I side with the OP not because hes a transit employee but because he handed an L to one of these knucklehead teens who always be starting shit with adults.

    I’m gonna say self defense

As per Yelper "Paulette S." of Kearny, NJ → review of Saddle River Tours (as a former #55 rider herself)

    ----------------

"As of the writing of this review, Tuesday Dec. 3, 2019, the Saddle River Bus Commuter Route 55, which picked up from Bloomfield, NJ and dropped off in Midtown Manhattan is no longer running.  Was there advanced notice?  NO, of course not.  The regular driver texted a few of the passengers and we basically had to play "telephone text" to make sure everyone was notified that the bus would no longer be running.

I last rode the bus on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019 at 5:45pm - the only pick up in the evening in front of Bryant Park.  Granted, most people left early for the holidays so there were only 3 passengers on the bus that evening.

But no notice was given - no note on their website.  Every time I tried to reach someone today, I got voicemail.  Most of us just bought tickets since we ride on a daily basis.  Are they refunding us?

    Horrible bus company!!

Yeah, Saddle River's defunct.... Some business owners keep their old websites up as a means of not having the domain name itself thrown back into the registry pool; usually to keep what's called domain squatters from marring or profiting off their good name (which is ironic for Saddle River specifically, but that's neither here nor there)...

It actually went under a new name, Matador Tours, and I’ve seen some buses recently in Saddle River graphics, (MCI J4500s and some D4505s).  They’re based out of the Carlstadt/Moonachie area

  3. January, the MCI routes from Market Street are coming to Wayne.  I look to be dropped a few spots down.  Should be interesting to see how everything plays out.  Maybe I get to learn some of Market’s routes 🤷🏽‍♂️

Huge shout out for Wayne on helping with trips on routes 171, 175 and145 on the regular that I've either seen or rode on. Perhaps some of their buses are housed in Market Street garage because Market Street has a equipment shortage. I even saw 45's make rare appearances on the 74 and this month on the 712 route. I'm waiting for the day that a XD60 shows up on a Market Street route haha

You’ll see more of those when when the Market Street invasion hits Wayne Garage

I'm sure those D45CRT standard floor cruisers are going to Wayne and some possibly to Meadowlands to replace the 9000s and 7100s. Oradell should definitely have all of their 40 foot MCIs replaced by the 22000 white back MCIs and they'll be housed in Oradell garage. Fairview may have their ex-Wayne 9000s replaced by the white backs as well. It's just a guess on my part

Now when you say standard floor cruisers, I hope you don’t mean the ones with the low floor center door.

Rename Nostrand Avenue? Only the eastbound platform is in Crown Heights. The westbound platform is in Bedford-Stuyvesant. Atlantic Avenue is the dividing line between the two neighborhoods. 😁

Yeah, Nostrand Av is good. No worst thing in the world than people doing too much...🤦‍♂️

So, while driving on a Fairview route (not gonna say which one), this lady got on the bus wanting to get off at stop B. Mind you, NJT discontinued stop A a few months ago. So I make an announcement that stop A is discontinued and that you have to use Stop C as an alternative.

This lady darts up to the front of the bus, shoves her entire head and phone in the drivers compartment and starts screaming. I stop and I’m like what’s wrong!? She’s telling me she’s been riding this bus for x amount of years and that she’s never heard of stop A being discontinued. I asked her, aren’t you getting off at stop B? She says yes, so I’m like ok so why are you making an issue out of a stop your not even getting off at? So what does she do, she somehow manages to get the phone number for the dispatch office and calls them up saying I’m confusing passengers and that she’s been riding this bus for x amount of years and she’s never heard of this stop being discontinued.

And mind you, I’m just sitting here like…I know this lady ain’t serious right now. This is out of control with some of these folks…

I would have told her: Miss I forgive you.  In your defense, the full moon is out...

They’re (G)lad to see R160s on their line

I remember couple weeks back riding the SIM 33C (Combination, ha) into Manhattan one evening and seeing a 5 car R160 heading up to Smith-9 Sts and thinking hm, so that finally came full circle

I was talking to him in Atlantic City. He has a morning Atlantic City today.

He’s the consummate extra board guy.  I thought I wouldn’t have that experience to do another line until beginning of last pick when I was asked to do the 126.  I should stop my 7 day work blitz and take a 319 trip just to see how to do it.
