Would having both be too hard?
We basically have it on the Jersey side on the newer MCIs (that I drive at least)

I just had a passenger just randomly put his mobile credit card in the reader on the 192 and wouldn’t you know it the damn thing actually worked considering it was said that payment was only testing on the 161
Update:
I was informed that although the scanner for the credit card it operational, it will not deduct from the passenger’s account. Only the 161 is accepting credit/debit cards

How long do you see each transaction taking compared with OMNY?
Not sure. I haven’t messed around with OMNY

You mean by tapping on the machine?
Yes. Where tickets are scanned

Explain how that’s going to work
Same way you scan tickets. All you gotta do is input zone of travel and money is deducted from their account

Starting today, NJT is allowing Debit/Credit cards to be scanned on (of all lines) the 161

I was actually wondering if there are multiple depots that have their hands on one bus line the same way NJT has most all their depots run the 126

Not sure if this was mentioned in here, but A&C Bus will be shutting down at the end of October.
Here's to hoping that NJT will actually be serious about service in Jersey City.Even though it’s been mentioned enough times it’s still a shocker. It seems NJT will be taking private operations the same way MTA did with the NYC Private ops

Sunday night I was operating the 194 to Newfoundland and as I was leaving Wayne Transit Center, noticed ALP44 4424 in between GP40PH-2 unit 4111 and what looked to be a CNJ Museum piece. Later on, as it turned out, 4424 was headed to the URHS of New Jersey in Boonton where they have an NJT E8 and an E60CP

We been telling scheduling dept this for years even if you ran it every 2hrs until 730am, but nope they rather people do the 139 to the 559; and yes some people actually do this.

That is a heck of a lot of 319 buses going from NYC to AC this Friday… https://content.njtransit.com/sites/default/files/bus_holidays/IndependenceDay2023/IND319.pdf
My garage (Wayne) got asked to do those trippers. Too bad I had a straight shift to work

I feel like NJT should be exempt from having a system-wide map just because of the coverage area it has. It should at least be by town, like any route that enters or goes near the PABT.
I saw an attempt at a system map on Transee that confirms your point. Yuck

DeCamp buses went quick out of Meadowlands. Think I saw 3 left. Also saw some at their old garage in Montclair as I passed by on the Montclair-Boonton Line going to Newark

I spent Memorial Day hunting for the MN 208 unit. Found it on the first try at Grand Central, then took a trip on the Hudson Line to Tarrytown to get a photo op (since it looked as if it wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon from GCT). Well as my train pulls into Irvington, 208 comes flying past and I’m cursing my cursed luck in front of a live studio audience 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤦♂️

NJT finally updated the destination sign for 355 to NY. Instead of New York being on two lines, it takes up the entire destination sign (just like your standard 114 NEW YORK).
About damn time

For what it’s worth, the mytix reader has been turned on and when you scan it comes up on the register. The tap pay feature however has not been turned on. The tap pay won’t be turned on until the fare card available.
Didn’t it use to be that when you signed on to the register, the clever device turned on with it?

Damn, somebody had it out for you on that day; bad ass luck all the way around, fam..... I can honestly say that I've never had a trip close to being this bad.... Bet at the end of it all, you're kicking yourself for not taking the #72 to begin with (now that feeling, I've had quite a few times - The whole, I should've did 'y' instead of 'x')... Two things though:
1] Where the heck did that op' on the #28 (the Newark bound one) leave you off at?
2] By any chance, did you happen to know the op' on the #190 that took you back to the depot?
16 hours ago, checkmatechamp13 said:It sounds like the B/O let him off at Bloomfield Avenue & Park Street in Montclair, rather than taking him all the way to Bloomfield for the #72. (I guess she thought anywhere along Bloomfield Avenue must be in Bloomfield).
In other words, if he had walked straight to the #72 from MSU, that would've been roughly the distance he walked from Montclair Center to Bloomfield Center
@checkmatechamp13 I think that’s exactly where she let me off and I didn’t know at the time I was near to an NJT colleague that lived near Belleville Ave. I would’ve hit him up to ask for a couch nap for the night.
@B35 via Church before I get to 2, a quick note that the op of the 72 that I barely caught much to my shock and awe was a former co worker from Lakeland. So we caught up with each other as he works from Market Street and I’m out of Wayne.
Now to 2, the operator knew me and believe it or not I was going to go through the trouble of riding that whole 190 on a round trip before we went back to the garage, but the problem was that MCI would give one of the worst mule kicks ever when it would accelerate and I finally had to get off not long after leaving Grand Street in Paterson (at night 😖) and the op of the Paterson bound bus took me back after finishing.

The trip actually ended up being #197 (to Willowbrook Mall) - #748 (to Paterson City Hall) - #171 (full) - #182 (full) - #712 (full) - #871 (full) - walked from Speedwell/Cattano to MNRR Morristown - Train from Morristown to S. Orange (because I had a ticket from a previous planned trip a couple mos. ago I had to cancel, that I wanted to finally use... that, and I didn't want to ride back on the same bus/driver that I just came off on the #871, that did the #874 back to Willowbrook.... I knew that going in anyway) - #107 (full)... Then for shits & giggles, I took the from TSQ to Jay st, to the B67 - to the B35, home.
Total trip time: 13 hrs, 6 mins,
You went for the ride, lol. Did you ever have any hang ups to where you were a hairsbreadth away from being stranded?
Case in point: on my day off I parked my car at Wayne Depot and rode into the city on the 192. Wanted to try out the 119 with the New Flyer Xcelsiors. From Bayonne I got the 10 and rode to JSQ where I got the Path to Newark. From there I wanted to get the 11 to Willowbrook to the 198 and get off at the depot entrance. Well I got on the wrong side of Penn Station and miss the 11.
Ok no problem,
I’ll take the 28 up to Willowbrook (unsure if even went that far at that point of the evening). Well 28 only went to MSU.
Ok no problem.
I’ll get the MOBO at nearby Montclair Heights and ride to Route 23 Transit Center. Get to MSU, and I’m waiting longer than I’m supposed to. Then I get word due to a fire in Glen Ridge, the MOBO was 50 minutes late while one of the trains from New York was cancelled.
Ok no problem
The last 28 to Newark is leaving MSU. I’ll use that to the 72 to Paterson and catch a deadhead (161 or 190) back to the depot. I specifically told b/o I want to catch the 72. She puts me off a full mile where I actually want to go. Cue a nice 45 minute adventure on foot down Bloomfield Av (with a few brisk sprints mixed in and a shortcut down Belleville Ave) and I was able to catch that last 72 to Paterson with 4 minutes to spare. Caught a 190 dh back to Wayne depot to end one of the more chaotic trips ever 🤦♂️

So they have those Black Oak #197's doing Valley to Ratzer?
The #748 though, runs along 202 & shoots across Ratzer.... Never uses Alps.
Sorry I meant the Alps Road stop on Paterson-Hamburg Turnpike. And for the 748 to Pompton Lakes via Pat-Ham during the rush hour.

Alps Road is still closed in both directions on the 197/748.
