  1. The day that R32s run on the is the day that foaming as we know it will cease to exist, because there will be nowhere to go from there. Maybe they'll come out of retirement in another 20 years when the 143's get pushed to the ......
  2. So? It's not like / riders pay a higher fare......
  3. On my last trip, I made a connection with an R160 .... and then 5 minutes later made a connection with an R46 .... and no, Orion VII, I'm NOT making this up!
  4. I did! Had to take my train OOS at 125 so we could lay it up on A6. Nothing like seeing homeball alley up close!
  5. Awesome, I was really expecting to see a million photos posted when I got home. But I'll settle for one.
  6. They would postpone the GO from beginning until all of the trains are in their proper places. The GO isn't causing the delay. The workers are working outside of the GO by having to foul one of the revenue tracks for some reason and THAT is causing the delays.
  7. So did anyone catch that R68A running on the tonight? It looks like now Concourse is providing equipment in an effort to keep the line 100% R-32-free!
  8. I'm hearing that this swap is going to last longer than most of you assume it will....
  9. He talks about his precious Hudson Yards like it's gonna be the ONLY busy part of the city once it opens.....
  10. You forgot to mention the people who claim that 76 St was actually open for a couple months, and then later closed down.
  11. The way they do promotional exams these days, they expect you to know the ins and outs of the job you are testing for. You basically have to have already worked the job to get 100% on the exam. Best way to study is to talk to the people who already have that title and learn everything you can from them - see if you can borrow their induction manuals and study those cover to cover!
  12. Watch out, you're starting to turn this fantasy map circlejerk into an actual discussion!
  13. You forgot to add the Brighton Express to the list. But don't worry about getting the facts straight, since this plan is NEVER going to be implemented. IF the were extended to Lefferts, go ahead and let the Lefferts riders wait for their precious express. That'll give more seats to the Fulton St local riders. Nobody's FORCING them to transfer there, I'm sure the is going to go to their stop too......
  14. NOW the Fasttrack service changes are in the mta.info future service changes system. Took them long enough.....and since we're a week away from it starting, they'll probably start hanging up the posters now too, making all of the riders think that it's gonna be THIS week instead of NEXT week.
  15. The only fantasy plan I have EVER really reasonably expected to see actually happen is extending the one stop to Burke Ave-White Plains Rd, and building an in-system transfer to the .That tunnel is already built halfway there with the relay tracks, and Burke could be a real terminal, no more relays, no more crew changes at Bedford Park. Plus that extension from 205 to Burke provides a connection between the two neighborhoods which are otherwise separated by the Bronx River. So much practicality there...... Extending it to Co-Op City is overkill. That would be like trying to build another SAS.
  16. Wait a minute, so you're willing to screw up subway service all over the city just to get your crazy to Rock Park idea implemented, but you can't even handle the making 4 more stops without throwing a hissy fit????
  17. It's threads like this that play a part in the attitude I get towards foamers. All the OP really wants is to make sure that the only goes to ONE place, and also wants to eliminate the shuttle and can't seem to comprehend that the Rockaways DOES NOT need two full services running down there just so that each and every station can be served by a full length line that has an individual letter. Meanwhile messing up service all over the city just to get his goal accomplished. This is fantasy world thinking. Also the reason that the and both run express on CPW on weekends is because there is MUCH more demand for service to upper Manhattan and the Bronx than there is for CPW service. The would get way too overcrowded if it ran local on CPW, and the can't run local without causing delays unless it also ran local on 8th Ave, which it can't do with the and running there without causing MORE delays. And the has very light ridership on the weekends, so that's the best solution for carrying CPW riders. Oh, and 205 St can barely turn ONE service, let alone having both the and run there!
  18. Something happened in the past week where my manual pronouncement of Lafayette has changed too. All last pick I was saying "Broadway Laugh-vee-ett" and all of a sudden "Law-vee-ett" started coming out of my mouth. I've always pronounced it DEEEE-Cow-Buh. I've also been saying VON Sick Lynn ever since my A-Division days. Thank god I've never had a 32/42 on the . I don't know how I'd ever handle that first stop after Myrtle-Broadway......
  19. Roll Over My Head has already stated that he downvotes any comment that is about something he doesn't like, even if it's actual news. He downvoted my original announcement about the R160's coming to the too, and now EVERYBODY is talking about them. Seesh...... And no, no more R46's on the . No more relays at Chambers for the . And YES, the is still getting the R62A's. And nobody cares how many times you rode the R160 today. They'll be here for the rest of the summer, relax. And now cue someone to tell me that I need to go on vacation again even though I only speak the facts.
  20. Dianne Thompson. They're ALL Dianne Thompson........
  21. Why? Because why not! They can turn the trains on the platform, so why do an unnecessary relay?
  22. No more for me .... got picked out of that job starting Sunday. Okay, I get that you are rail enthusists. I am too. But seriously.....you can't find anything better to do at 1AM on a Friday morning that put on a tshirt and jump on and off my train at every stop between 72 St and 135 St taking photos? It's not like the running local on CPW is a once in a life time occasion (we're doing it all afternoon on Saturday!)
  23. I love how most customers on 8th Ave go completely apeshit when my connects with an N/B. They rush onto that and my almost empty still beats it to 168 St. I do have some loyal customers who are smarter and always stay on my train, even if they're going to 125 or 145.
  24. Have any of you heard anything about the July 15-18 Concourse Fastrack getting cancelled? It's still listed on the MTA website's Fastrack schedule page, but it isn't showing up in a future date service change search, and I know that both weekends of the "Fastrack Preparation" GO got cancelled.
