  1. Bad idea. Non-MTA buses need to use those streets in the event something bad happens on the main highways around that area or for other purposes. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  2. So Prince fans had decorated Prince Street station on the & with tributes to the pop artist. There was a variety of them. http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/Impromptu-Prince-Tribute-Prince-Street-Station-Lower-Manhattan-NYC-376753571.html However... 3. It sort of feels like Nevins Street (4 stops from Grand Army Plaza) where there were provisions to make it into the express station it is today when it was a local stop a century back. On a related note, Borough Hall on the and was originally planned to be a 3 track station. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  4. Well that sucks. I've dealt with similar overcrowding on the M86 in the past. :/ Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  5. That reminds me of when non-articulated Xcelsiors operated on the M42 a few years back. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app I wonder if Mother Clara Hale will get any Xcelsiors. Same goes to Tuskegee Airmen as well. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  6. 5893 was operating on the M101 today heading southbound. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  7. 2 more months until the R179 pilot arrives. Anybody looking forward to it. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  8. This I'm doing for fun. Video game characters do the automated announcements on the NTT's. , & *- Wave the Sallow & - Princess Daisy , , & - Sally Acorn , & - Mina Mongoose - Zero Suit Samus or Zelda Safety announcements- Solid Snake *Will do the 96th Street/2nd Avenue announcements. What do you think? Any other ideas besides these above? Any gaming characters for the other lines? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
  9. A down 4th Avenue is very unlikely. As for the , I checked out a few histrorical maps on nycsubway.org, the line was mainly created as of a result of rehab work being done on the Manhattan Bridge (which is from a result of deferred maintenance in the 1970's and most of the 80's). The and ran between the Bronx and Manhattan only (34th Street-Herald Sqaure as the southern terminal). As of a result, the was made to run between 21st Street-Queensbridge and Broadway-Laffayette Street, along with another that ran between Broadway-Laffayette and Grand Street. There was also another catch that Threxx mentioned; Note that around the time the was introduced, the ran via the Montague Tubes, the and existed, the Redbirds were along with the IND/BMT SMEE's were running, and the old World Trade Center was standing months before it was destroyed by terrorists. Also, the (soon to be reactivated), ran via the Manhattan Bridge with both the and running to Coney Island via West End. It ran express along 4th Avenue.
  10. Interesting... I wonder if they're open it up for public viewing. I would be sure many busfans would go to Bowling Green and check out the bus itself!
  11. Here's an idea of mine. If possible, send a few New Flyer D60HF Galaxy buses to Casleton, Charleston, and Yukon. They would be on the S57, 59, 61, 62, 74, 78, 79, 84, and 93. Here's how many of the models the depots would have. The numbers are in parenthesis. Castleton- (30) Charleston- (16) Yukon- (20) What do you think? Questions/improvements?
  12. I do not like the during rush hours. Every time when it's at the station it's always crowded, and you have to stand most of the time. Adding it further, it's pretty slow sometimes (with train traffic). It feels like you're on the Tokyo metro. Not only that, it looks better to ride the during rush hours. More seats and a faster ride. The (the line I live nearby) has crowded trains on weekends when it isn't suspended.
  13. Interesting notes from today. There are more M14D's than A's. Also, an Orion VII Next Gen ran on the M14D heading westbound (bus number was 3825). Seems that MJQ is short on artics again.
  14. Just checked out Google Street View on the timeline where the Street View car passed by the Eastchester Depot on the northbound New England Thruway; it's pretty interesting to see the buses that were there over the years.
  15. Yes. Here's one they recently posted up a few weeks back.
  16. I saw that set today on a Bronx-bound R62A on the way home at 103rd Street.
  17. New Flyer D60HF Galaxy 5548 on the M15 turning at the intersection of Chrystie Street and Delancey Street

  18. Maybe this would be more sensible. Do a and swap. The gets 5-car R160's and one 4-car R46 for rush hours and the gets R68's and 68A's. This swap would occur every spring.
  19. It's all part of a big, big glitch. I saw a post on Facebook a few days back that has a picture of it.
  20. But regardless, passengers have complained about them. Here's one quote from a commuter in a Daily News article back in August 2015. One from a New York Times article (here's the link; http://mobile.nytimes.com/2011/08/26/nyregion/for-often-late-cars-of-subways-c-train-retirement-must-wait.html?_r=0&referer=https://www.google.com/)
  21. It was really bad. I was with my mom when it happened.
  22. It's been a long time since I last posted here. Anyways... Have the South Ferry loop open during rush hours. This is in-case any delays occur in the new station during some type of event. Also (if this is possible), send one train to South Ferry during the AM & PM rush.
