  1. And as far as the RTS being the backbone of the fleet. Once they retire I would say that the Xcelsiors are going to be the focus of the fleet of the future. And the Nova LFS will be the Orion 5s of the fleet as a different model to differentiate the fleet. Unless MTA looks at Gillig, MTA is most likely going to use this combo of buses Novas and Xcelsiors in the foreseeable future (Artics included). These are the future buses for New York.
  2. Facts. Nobody cares about many buses untill they are close to retirement. That's why I care about some of the newer buses. Nothing will beat the RTSes, Orion 5 (CNGs too), and older New Flyers (Artic or C40). But at the same time. There are a lot of newer models that I like now before they become "favorites" to many bus fans. Many people sleep on the Novas. They won't take the pace of an RTS but they are really solid Buses. People also sleep on the New C40LFs. Yes the bus is quiet compared to the old model. But besides that, these buses look the same. But the point is that I care about bus models at all times. Not when they are brand new or about to retire. Its about that time in between.
  3. Are the '99 RTSes going to stay at their depots (Flatbush, Ulmer Park, Jamaica, ect) up till retirement or are they going to finish at MTA Bus (LGA or JFK).

  6. Let me hear your top five trains when it comes to reliability. I'm talking about those trains that are there when you needed the most. There are 20 something lines in NYC, but which ones are the best of the best? My 5 are the (No Paricular Order) and . In my humble opinion, these 5 trains have never done me any wrong and have great service. Interested in what your top 5 are.
  7. This a 2002 MARTA Diesel Orion VII. This Bus is running on the old Atlanta Braves Shuttle route. These Diesel Orion VIIs are MARTA's oldest buses still in everyday service. These buses use the Detroit Diesel Series 50 EGR Engine and the Alison B400R6 Transmission. These buses are slowly being retired and are about 20 of the buses still in service. If you visit Atlanta, GA it is a must ride.
  8. Are the R62s from the recieving the Cuomo treatment as well?
  9. Picture this... Lets say a terrorist attack has taken place at Jackson Heights Roosevelt Av at the Peak of AM Rush Hour. A Bomb has exploded and has taken out both train portion and the section. The situation gets worse and the terrorist are lurking in between Queens Plaza and 71-Continental Av. The train elevated structure has become weak from the blast leaving 69 Street and 82 Street in devastation. So with most of Queens in Chaos. There is also train stuck right smack dab in the middle of the Clark street tube going into Manhattan. Which prevents the and trains heading to Manhattan. And at the same time, a person was struck by a train at Borough Hall heading towards manhattan. Stopping and trains from going into Manhattan. And for the finishing touch, A water main broke at the 149 street Grand Concourse Station. The break floods the Entire Station. and trains cannot pass through the station safely in both directions. So how can you save Brooklyn, Queens, and The Bronx? Lines affected * P.S. No Shuttle buses and no Bus service near the Queens Explosion (Q32,Q33,Q47,Q49,Q53,Q70,ect.) Have fun
