Well I spotted 5364 at JFK airport today.. It's parked in the old ramada hotel parking lot in the airport. I cannot confirm but I think 5368 was right behind it.. again, I cannot confirm it was 5368 because I was driving by so fast that I only got a slight glance. Also 5377 is parked up at the port authority depot in the airport.. so it seems they pumping out these artics. 5371 seems to have already been repaired.

RTS buses may have been meant to last two decades but drive one of those buses for more than 4 hrs and the after effects will linger a few days. Most of them u have to put so much pressure on the brake to release the interlock/change gears and that itself will bring some sore knees later on that day or night. Not to mention the kneeling where if u kneel the bus it doesn't come back up unless u cycle the power. Some of you love the RTS and is a good bus but that was 15yrs ago.

Well it's already being fixed at Jfk. Saw It an hour ago and the damage is already being worked on.

I can confirm 5371 is at Jfk and there is body damage in the back. Not major but there is a 1 1/2 ft cratch top center. Looks like someone backed into something.

Those old Orion's were terrible. Those monsters on the school trippers were thowing the seat cushions out the windows. Horrible buses, just horrible. Whoever the genius who thought putting removable cushion seats on Local buses was a good idea needs to be fired. Not to mention the absolutely horrible heating and cooling system. No heat in winter and no a/c in summer. Just an horrible horrible bus on every count. Only good think about those buses was they took some hitting in accidents but usually come out unscratched.

Anyone knows why the new artics being delivered to Jfk depot have to make a pit stop at the port authority bus depot at Jfk first. Was driving by today and saw 5373 parked up in there so I guess delivery to Jfk is imminent.

Far Rockaway looks to be RTS free again. All their rts have been passed over to Jfk which I also heard will then dump them in the near future.

Not sure what's wrong with those new flyer artics and having 4 pilot buses because I've seen the training materials and those buses are 2012 models. I didn't check the year of manufacture on the buses at Jfk but will check as soon as I can but those are 2012 model year buses so all the kinks should have been fixed by now. That said, I was on 5666 which was delivered about two weeks ago and I've already started to see defects in material. The seats where the passengers sit on the floor they have yellow tapes surrounding the edges and within a few days those tapes have black smudges. I guess they never envision passengers were going to be placing there foot there to get on and off the seats.

I saw 5365 pulling into Jfk yesterday. So they now have the four pilot buses.

Can't use artics on the q6 unless the bus stop for 165st terminal is moved. No way can artics safely go in and out that terminal. The standard buses are having problems with getting in and out now so putting artics there would be a disaster.

how will they fit all those artics 44 at Bailey park.

5366 and 5367 just arrived at Jfk depot.

like how airlines refurbish old planes the MTA should do that with the rts buses. Just redo the interior and a good paint job and fasten the body panels. Heck, with proper maintenance they can get another 10yrs out of the buses.

The MTA job is to get passengers to their destination safely and time takes a backseat. They would never tell an operator to drive faster because someone write in to complain about the operator speed. They will put an undercover on the bus and so long as the operator does what he/she is suppose to then nothing will happen.

While at Jfk airport today I saw 5365 going into the port authority bus garage. It will probably end up at Jfk depot next week.

ATU is a worthless union with no backbones. In the past it was unthinkable to have splits on weekends but the fools allow that crap to happen. Imagine the folks who have to report to work on a Sunday doing a run paying 8 hours but they have a 2 hour split in between. And then having the operators who drive those run down artics on the q10 being paid only $.25 extra.

These kids are something else the first week of school they coming on the bus claiming they lost their metrocards. even if these kids love right next door to the school they still get an 1/2 fare metrocard yet they come on the bus don't even want to swipe that. That's why I don't blame operators for telling them to get off if they don't have fares.

For someone who claims to have filed over 100 complaints u don't think the MTA knows u by now and maybe are just junking your complaints.

The Q10 have been inundated with 40 footers as of late.
