I kicked someone off my train back in September for doing that with a full sized E-scooter. He blocked the door from my alternate conductors position into the car.

rule number 1: do not block my escape routes in the event of an emergency.

Rule number 2: Do not interfere with the operations of service when you are bringing a small vehicle on the subway. That will cost you an ejection from the system. Operators need a certain spot clear for an escape route, as you guys mentioned, for emergency cases. No wonder why trains get delayed. Because some dumb nut decided to pick an irrelevant argument with either the motorman or the conductor of the train, then people need LTW forgiveness papers all the time. I’ve experienced that myself.

I heard some very ugly statements concerning this, the whole situation makes this place look like a Wringling Brothers Circus. This is going to get ugly starting from up top.
You mean the now defunct Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey Circus.
6 years ago, I was on my way to Wilmington, Del and I heard that some of these conquestors and transit brats (those who don’t know how to behave when they see new subway or rail cars on their first day of revenue service) were going to the Amtrak Wilmington Yard (where new engines get delivered and old engines get scrapped) and derail the engines. So this is what I said: Do that and I’ll see you in 10 years and I hope this teaches you a lesson for trespassing in a spot you don’t belong.

If these were the same conquestors who:
were playing with the lights on the R46 cars while in passenger service
threw rocks on the R68 C I bound during the morning peak a few months back
vandalized 76 R46 cars that suspended the in early fall?
then Karma is waiting at the door.
IDGARA if they say “kids are gonna be kids” but these kids are to be taught a lesson regardless of their age. If u don’t see them outside, then grounding them is the action.2 -

So...You want them to fix 20 cars in 4 days...got it. Besides that, how do you know if the other cars are even coming back to service by the new year? I just feel like the MTA or Pitkin Yard themselves can't really do so much shit at once since Pit doesn't have a car wash unlike 207 or CIY.
He didn’t give a specific date. It could be from the 2nd all the way to the 31st. Remember: trains get sent back to CI for inspection and trackage checks before going back to Pitkin.

Say if the Bronx wants to continue to use NovaBus LFSAs. Then the new XD or XDE60s (whichever they order) should go to MQ, then all Novas used as + buses at Quill can go to the Bronx for local service, while their + buses get Xs for their + routes.
Same goes for Hale’s if they decide to keep the in the long haul (spring pick ‘24 being the latest).
FLA could sweep the X order off the bat, but wait until the Brooklyn & Queens redesign takes effect, then we can start talking about it

Man, people are bitches nowadays. Off topic but trust me, I see kids 'slapboxing' in front of their house with other kids. If they really do wanna fight me, they gonna run. But here, because the train is about to leave, what makes you think you can point the gun at the train conductor? Like wtf? You forget, there's always another train you can f**king wait for? This damn system runs 24/7/365. Like chill and wait f**king 3 MINUTES!!! Both the B and Q are going the same way in bklyn. Man, these people...
I wholeheartedly agree. I miss one train at one time, and had to wait 2 min for the next train, but point a gun a an authorized employee isn’t one of those

On Tuesday, December 20th morning on the there was an individual showing a gun to the conductor so, she could open the doors. But, was arrested at the location. Glad that the crew and passengers are okay from this chaos.
Of all places, Prospect Park Station on the and . Since this idiot didn’t wanna wait for the next train, and she was on schedule to leave PP, then she’s gotta do what she’s gotta do. She gets threatened with a pistol, she’s got no other choice but to delay service and call the police. That’s the whole agenda of keeping passengers safe. Remember: it takes a**hole to f**k things up for everybody.

You know, I always forget about the Franklin Shuttle. I'm kinda surprised I forgot about the R32's on the and , especially since i have taken all 3 at one point, too. IIRC, I'm pretty sure the R68A also appeared on the in normal service more often during the 90's or rather early 90's. Though, I wouldn't know for sure.

I’m not familiar with the history of the M35 all too well but back in the 1980s it did run to Astoria from Harlem via Randall/Wards Island.
M34 ran from 125th St to Wards Isle until 1980, when it merged with the M35. The needed that route for its 34th St Crosstown as they wanted every Crosstown route renumbered after the street it runs under:
Street before. Now
8/9. M13. M8
14. M14. Same
23. M26. M23
34 M16. M34/34A
42. M106. M42
49/50. M27. M50 (Port Authority still M27 until 2010)
57. M28. M57
59. M103. M58 short lived
65/66/67/68 M29. M66
72 M30. M72, M30 to 58th until 2010

Since the first question was answered, I'll answer the second. The MTA had a bunch of cars running around in the early 90's.
- The R26/28/29 are IRT trains that ran throughout the 90's retiring in 2002.
- The R30's were operating on specific lines like the and (the Rockaway ), but they were retired around the beginning of the 90's.
- The R32's were everywhere in the 90's even in the 2000's until the R160's came in shifting a bunch of them elsewhere or retirement. You'd find them on the and .
- There were 2 different kinds of R33's, mainline (R33) and World's Fair (R33S or R33WF). Mainline is everything but the so all of 7 Av and Lexington Av lines, World's Fair is the , don't ask me about what the differences are. The is just one of those lines that require special cars like the R188's currently running around.
- The R36's is another mainline train that ran in the 90's, it retired in 2003 on the as more R142/A's were delivered.
- The R38's was mainly running on the in the 90's and retired in 2009.
-
Like the R33's, there were 2 different variants of the R40, the R40S (slant face) and the R40M (not slanted). Both retired officially in 2009.
- The R40S were mainly based out of Coney Island yard for the and East New York yard for the (still don't know why there's no circle emoji when there used to be one) and . Later in the late 90's they were running on other lines like the and .
- The R40M were based out of ENY for the and stayed that way until the early 2000's had them based out of CIY running along the and .
- From what I remember, the R42's were mainly an ENY train running along the lines, they had appearances along the Queens Blvd line like the , but these were later on.
- The R44's were pretty much just on the and as well as the until it got discontinued during the early 90's, nothing much else during those times.
- The R46's were based out of Jamaica yard all throughout the 90's along the .
- The R62/A's were mainline IRT trains all over for all 7 Av and Lexington Av. They didn't appear on the until the 2000's when the R142/A's were being delivered in the late 90's
- Last but not least are the R68/A's, really nothing different from today's service, they were and still are based out of both Concourse and CIY. The has always had them since its introduction and Concourse loves them and CIY had them running along the and . I don't think they ran them on the until in the late 2000's.
These are all the trains that ran during the early 90's with extra info just for the fun of it, I do hope someone can correct me on all this in case I got something wrong or missed a few things.
Correct on some, but not all.
R30/30A 8250-8411 & 8412-8569 ran on both the and the
R32s ran on Phase 1 & GE, Phase 1 & GE, Phase 1 & 2, Phase 1 & 2, Phase 2

Q68 should be operated out of Grand Ave Depot because its service pattern does end at WBP. so why would it go to LGA?

I will say despite all the issues, seeing an R211 on the is a much more normal occurrence; people no longer look at it weirdly or with awe when it pulls into the station, and it's never filled with railfans taking photos. It's like officially part of the family.
Once the first R211s went thru the 30 day test this June, and the proto was a regular, the fanfare stopped. You only see them when a new subway cars run for 3-6 weeks, but once week 7 comes, they’re regular joes or janes you see doing their normal activities

I saw car 4164 at the Coney Island yard today, don’t know what that could mean, is it there for testing purposes?
Usually, when R211s get delivered, they’re directly sent to CI for set ups, installation and inspection before sending them to Pitkin for burn ins, training and revenue service.

Mine is 2 days before you on 2/11. So whatever is left, then the rest should be back by then since it’s gonna be almost a year that the first cars went to service. Meanwhile 4165-4204 has yet to get here, right?

The reason for future numbers was deleted was there was bus orders that were cancelled or never ordered because that one particular bus failed a specific test. Even equipment that you never see operate was bought or sent here for testing or service operations wind up being sent back after a few days. The plays a “Now you see it, now you don’t” scheme. Day 1, people be like “I wanna see it on this route or that route”.… but Day 2, it was sent back. Why? It failed twice: 1. Breakers didn’t malfunction right. 2. Miscellaneous parts. 3. Bus making company went belly up

"management"... meaning whom exactly? what do they consider "management" ? the AGM? GS of transportation? GS of maintenance? because with all due respect, i don't think any respectable GS or AGM is passing along info to self proclaimed foamers/fan boys. just my opinion.
Spot on. Any kind of manager/dispatchers of said depots don’t pass along information to anyone not a member of the . So for a person to pass that Info according to “management”, you better be specific on who. I only see buses in “physical form”.
when the ordered 400 8000 series RTS buses in 1990, I did not pass that information around. I only saw what was coming in from Brooklyn & Queens depots to the Walnut depot for 1 trip runs then off to the graveyard.

Housing Lottery Launches For 352 Meeker Avenue In Williamsburg
BUT THERE'S LITERALLY NOTHING THERE!!!
The affordable housing lottery has launched for 352 Meeker Avenue, a 7-story residential building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by Leandro Dickson of LND Architect and developed by Mordechai Ganzfried, the structure yields 27 residences. 9 units are available on NYC Housing Connect for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $111,532 to $165,230.
Residences feature a patio or balcony, name-brand kitchen appliances, and a dishwasher. Amenities include a gym, lounge, and rooftop terrace. Tenants are responsible for electricity.
130%: 9 one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $3,253 for incomes ranging from $111,532 to $165,230.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than 12/21/2023.
Via Google maps. Is this some type of rendering?
It is shown on line if they wanna look at. People see the apartments first on line to see if they want it. They’re looking for 4 things:
transportation
amities
retail shops and
SAFETY in & out. They don’t wanna feel threatened all the time.

And you want them to take a different gamble on out of date, inefficient, broken down buckets of bolts…
Like… there is a small shopping list of items I need at arms length at all times. I carry them in my backpack.
with the R32s, if I were trained on them, I would have to carry that every time I switched sides because I would not be able to leave it behind in one cab, because people are breaking into the cabs and stealing our tools.
that is and of itself is grounds for them never being used again.
there is a pile of reasons you never consider when making your argument.
removing the R32s kinda shortened B Division Schoolcar. It got my class on the road faster.
The TA tools to these people are money they get for scrap. Something the should do is all tools, just so that all scrap metal places get the alert that the tools that are being stolen from 🚇 car cabs are offensive lead crime and those attempting to sell as scrap, are subject to 6 months to a year in jail and a fine of $1,500.

Ohh right, since in that case, any potential gains in R160 10-car units would have been offset by losses on available 8-car R160s. Quite a conundrum when you have partial CBTC installation which restricts which cars can go where, and a car shortage that cannot be corrected until the entire R211 order is here
Even if the entire order of R211s are complete, it’s not gonna solve any kinds of issues.
