Question, are the R211Ts interoperable with the R211As? If so, would the MTA run them together? I assume it'd be a very rare thing like the R160A and R160B together.

The reason for Alstom R160A/Kawasaki R160B intermix is because of the same Alstom traction, Alstom trac R160A/Bs cannot intermix with R160B Siemens, even though they tried it in 2019.

as for R211A/T intermix, we’ll just wait and see how the R211Ts run first.

Does the cost to repair the bus outweigh the price to buy a new one? Many of these buses are held for investigations for a long period of time, have significantly less mileage than buses from the same order by the time they retire and factoring in man hours, parts? Does the return on investment really work out in the MTA’s favor? I guess age of the bus plays a big factor and how severe the damage is.

And 5299 was renumbered 5252 after it was finished. As Caith mentioned, buses can be saved because of its good parts and these buses haven’t reach 10 years yet. How can a bus travel at high speeds and hit an illegally parked truck? That’s the question remains

Ahhh, developing sightings: 4165-49 testing at Broad Channel

    Pitkin Yard consist: Track #15: 4059-55x4049-45 & Track #16: 4044-40x4054-4050

    More within the barn:

4140-44x4080-84 (just a newb pulling another newb from sick leave....yet to see service TBD)

4145-49 (was seen lasted with 4165-69)

4075-79 (was pulled with 4105-09 for two weeks; disconnected on 01/28/24)

4135-39 (broke up with its debut partner, nothing personal; on stand-by)

What I've seen in-service so far today:

4060-4069 (The OG keeping it strong for 6 months straight now; goes to show you that the prototype models are better than the production 'quality')

4099-95x4130-34 (Another case of a newb picking up a sick leave newb; as of 01/25/24)

    4105-09x4094-90 (as of 01/29/24)

    4100-04x4125-29 (as of 01/15/24)

    4110-14x4120-24 (as of 01/25/24)

    Schoolcar consists for today:

4070-74x4115-19 (was in service since 01/08/24)

    Excuse the cringe commentary lol

They wanna keep 4060-4069 together until more 4200s & 4300s comes in.

Almost the end of an era…

After that, 8120-8339 are not to far behind. There are 44 buses from that group already scrapped including the last 15 buses. 8325 is the highest number left. Frontier & Victory retired their DE41s before the 3600s came to service

    Why is SEPTA retiring de40lfrs?

They’re replacing their DE41s with the 220 bus order that is also replacing the D40LFs as well.

    2 DE40LFRs have been retired so far: 8345 & 8366

by 2029, other than the Novas, the rest is NFXDE40s with different specs.
    regular XDEs are 3000-3524

    BAE XDEs are 3525-3864

Can’t keep waiting for the r211t/s to enter service. I have been waiting to long😒.

Be patient. They will come. R211S will do 30 day revenue in March. The T version will be anytime this quarter. Let them catch up one section at a time.

    I don’t trust web/wiki sources that I find randomly.

    The link is: https://mtanyctransitfanon.fandom.com/wiki/Historical_MTA_Regional_Bus_rosters_(2005-2015)_(mtamaster_edition)

But, is any of this info true: 2005-2006 - MTA bus is formed over the years, and as a result, merged 9 different private companies into one. These buses were gained from the companies and renumbered to reflect the change:

    1995 Fixible Metro E 40102-4D:

    1550-1599 for Queensboro (Q101, Q102, Q103, Q104, Q105, QM1, QM1A)

    1600-1629 for Eastchester (Bx23, Bx70, Bx72, BxM6, BxM7, BxM7A, BxM7B, BxM9, BxM10:

    1630-1649 for Williamsburg (B102, B110, BM10, BM11, BM12, BM15)

Can anyone identify: 1995 Fixible Metro E 40102-4D buses - did they exist on an official MTAB roster? What private operators did they come from? Did they ever run for MTAB?

Was there a Williamsburg depot, and where was it located?

In case you missed it, that’s is not a real roster. It’s someone’s made up roster.

the hard shell gangway and I believe whatever 4125-29 is hooked up to

Way 2 go! May your training be successful as the lord above wants you to do. Do it with determination and dedication and you’ll be operating on 2 lines depending on what assignment is given to you.

oh, so its because there's a huge space between stations (time-wise), which would explain why 8 Av Express  was okay (Canal St to 59 St-Columbus Circle), since between two express stations, there is only one local station  and the time distance is okay. Also Central Park West  between 125 St and 168 St is okay.

You don’t get the point. No express service on the R211T. If the R211T does operate express, it will without passengers. So it’s no use for that.

Y'all just makin shit up. HOW is it a setback for it to run on the (C)? The goal is to TEST it to see how it works in the system. Capacity (which is built in, btw) is irrelevant.

It has to WORK before all else (which I don't see why it won't).

You know these peeps that they wanna run it on a busy line. Let’s start with the (C) first and see how it works with applied restrictions. Remember: it’s not up to these communities & politicians on about where the cars go. That’s the DOS/RTO’s call.

I'm happy but also concerned. What happened with 4075-94? Don't they still got flats? I thought they were going to resume after every car is fixed.

As they’re fixing those cars, more new cars are coming in. Lincoln, NE has 124 new cars scheduled for delivery and the (NYCT) does not wanna waste time with delays about certain cars having problems. They can fix those along the way.

It ran on the SIM7 earlier. Remember that all SI coaches end up moving back and forth between all 4 depots.

💯. Staten Island Express buses can run on any route of choosing or in case, extra service for lost time. In the morning, buses don’t return to the island except for “C” routes. Buses park at Quill’s roof for “napping” during the midday hours or less, then return back to the island during the evening hours to “shower and sleep”
