FYI. Service Change Posted: 10/16/2018 10:18AM B68 buses are detoured because of construction on Neptune Av and Stillwell Av. Detour is as follows: Stillwell Terminal-bound: Via Brighton Beach Av, left on W 5 St, right on Surf Av, right on Stillwell Av, right on Mermaid Av and then resume their regular route. Corresponding stops will be made along detour route. It's probably all jammed up in that area.

Most of the time, console would rather keep the bus in service with a broken farebox than to take the bus OOS and mess up service. Buses would get swapped mid-route usually.

That's the run number not the route. That's 101 and 102 on the Q19 that you're looking at. Yes, I thought correctly. So if for whatever reason that run is cut for a certain day ex. Holiday or snow days etc. That person would be on the extra list

I can no longer see the link. But if there is an XL on a run it means that if for any reason that run is cut, ex. Holiday schedule or snow days, that person that's suppose to be working that run would have a fall back on the XL list.

Sorry. I might've misunderstood what you stated about bustime and having them to adjust accordingly when the driver is 2-3 minutes hot. You believe that drivers shouldn't drive slower to make schedule, but to properly adjust the schedule to the driver? Itll be difficult imo because every driver drives differently. Also.. if every driver were to gun the bus and run 'hot'. Schedules would be cut to adjusted and drivers would be 'shaved' of pay. It's just not worth it to gun it, especially if you're on time or just 2-3 mins behind.

How would you adjust a bus that's 2 mins ahead of schedule? Drivers drive a little slower so they can kill a light or two to make up those 2 mins.

Probably a bus that is running behind and the dispatcher told the bus operator to go limited to make up the time. Bus still provides service unlike sending the bus not in service.

Yes, correct somewhat. In terms of MTA rules, yellow is treated the same as red. Yellow = stop. Bus operators can get a violation for crossing yellows. When a bus crosses a yellow, the front would make it, but the rear end might not clear it in time and cross on red.

This is actually a pretty good idea. So rather than ending at 129 and Amsterdam, it'll continue straight to 145 and make that right to St. Nicholas? If so, perhaps the S/B trip would go down st nicholas all the way down to 125, make a right and regular route. I can see a lot more ridership being picked up, than the current situation over on convent.

Currently a B/O at Manhattanville. It's pretty big.. I think it holds like 200(?) buses with the 2nd and 3rd floor. And yes, the roof is mainly used for employee parking
