  1. I got a basic idea of how this GO will play out, but could subvert expectations.
  2. I'm calling the shots. Canal Street Flip. It will never happen but at least it'll balance out Demands.... sort of
  3. So I noticed something interesting while drawing 125-Lex’s Track Layout. Tracks 1 and 4, coming from Lexington Local point towards Jerome Avenue whereas Tracks 2 and 3 are coming from Pelham point towards the Lexington Express Tracks. Yet and Trains run express coming from Tracks 1/4 in the Bronx whereas the Run Local coming from tracks 2/3 in Pelham. Was the service patterns at Lexington. (Not counting the Switches and the junction in that area, did the IRT intend for this to be the case or was there a different Service pattern in that junction when Lexington (north of 42nd) was built?
  4. Anyone saying that the 6 Car 262’s should go to the they won’t. Those are meant for the Shuttle on 42nd Street so that those 62A’s can get replaced. I believe there’s supposed to be 24 Cars for the Shuttle Last I recall and then the rest 5 Car Sets for Mainline IRT. Makes sense since Lexington and 7th Avenue are both eventually planned to have CBTC in the future and would trap the Shuttle into 2 CBTC Zones.
  5. 211’s aren’t ready in time for 8th Avenue CBTC
  6. Every day. Its already completed its 30 Day test
  7. Oh okay, I see what you’re saying now. In regards to BMT Broadway being planned, it along with Astoria are still a part of the Fast Forward Plan IIRC along with every other Trunk Line in the CBD.
  8. Sounds like Parsons/Hillside could potentially become a Hub of some sorts. Wouldn’t be surprised if they already set up new Equipment in certain rooms.
  9. True, but given that 8th Avenue and Fulton are getting Upgraded, and the fact that CPW should have it, might as well finish the whole line at that point.
  10. Thats true hence why I personally believe that CPW, Concourse and the Rockaway Lines should all get priority for CBTC Installation. And to answer your question in your other post, yes. The IND do have the oldest Signals in the system. I wouldn’t be surprised if has something in mind to do all of Stillwell at once. Although the interesting question would be how would they deal with Stillwell Terminal?
  11. A thought occured to me while thinking about CBTC in relation to the R-211's. With Culver and 8th Avenue nearly Wrapping Up and going online in the near future, and QBL East on the way, it not only makes a lot of sense as to why Fulton, Crosstown and 6th Avenue were chosen, but at that point, a good portion of the IND will already be CBTC Active by the time the 211 order is finished. Since the IND Rockaway Line was planned under Fast Forward, Installing CBTC there, along with the Concourse, CPW and IND Archer Avenue Branch (over 7th, Lex, Astoria and Broadway) would not only ensure the and would be complete (the being 1 stop short of being complete), but would also ensure that the IND would be fully automated. Maybe that could make CBTC Installation easier for the rest of the system.
  12. I made a CBTC Progression chart for each subway line by track mileage if anyone is interested: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1rJ6Pm3XYACHCyMT-WdW8PSEiLuGckFw4rCb_xNtySqo/edit?usp=share_link
  13. Full source? Also whats one issue gotta do with another?
  14. Assuming that today was successful, then tomorrow maybe. Until problems are found that force the train to go OOS, 29 more days to go.
  15. Took the first trip from 168 to 34th-Penn with my mom. Had a pretty chill trip although I was unfortunate enough to get interviewed. Got off and spent time with my mom walking around until she had to go elsewhere. 2nd Trip, I caught it at Utica and met up with @NoHacksJustKhaks. We had a nice convo and the train was ALMOST rerouted via Rutgers. Met up with 2 IRL friends of mine in #4067 (back of the train going N/B. We're just chilling in our own little corner until 181st. Hear about the fight in the front. Laughed my ass off and went "Damn already!?! Its too early for this!!" and then I remember this is the transit community we're talking about. Things like this are the reason I don't go on the first day but went anyways because I took off today cause I made arrangements with family and the 211 Inaugration runs kinda just... fell in place conviniently... Get to 207th and train was supposedly out of service and had a door problem. Nobody, not even TSS or RCC knew what was going on but I took that chance to grab my pictures and catch up with some old friends and faces that I haven't seen sice pre-COVID. Train went back into service to everyone's surprise. Spoke to some T/O's and Conductors and went to the back of the train to hang out with a small group of friends of mine until 42nd Street. Overall had a fun day. Although the PA System was very choppy. Like, it took a while before it actually worked. At least this wasn't AS BAD as the first week of the R-32 Farewell Trip but still pretty annoying to deal with. Its always the foamers who can't conduct themselves who ruin it for everybody else getting from Point A to Point B or simply enjoying the train. I still had fun regardless but still.
  16. Wouldn’t a Job Pick amongst Train Operators and Conductors solve this issue for qualification? Just have a job pick when the time arises and call it a day. While (most) 160’s and 179’s are compatible with 8th Avenue CBTC, the 143’s aren’t compatible with other CBTC systems outside Canarsie. 211’s are built for the sole purpose of getting 8th Avenue CBTC Online, so IDK where you’re going with this?
  17. I think its called "VAKTRACK" or something like that. Basically just a Garbage train. To chime in on QBL. I've had times where I've taken it overnight. Sometimes its okay but most of the time, I opt for the LIRR from Penn or Woodside to go home because I can't be botherd with riding QBL, arriving home at 01:15 when I arrive home at 00:45 on nights where I take LIRR home from work.
  18. Possible chance you can give further insight on this, I’m interested
  19. TBF, the reason Concourse was brought up was because of the R-211's. We know the base order (sans the SIR cars) and a portion of Option 1 are meant for 8th Avenue CBTC on the and . Given that 6th Avenue is on the table for CBTC Upgrades, and Trains will most certainly be rerouted via 8th Avenue from time to time. I'll let you figure out the rest.
  20. I feel safe riding the subway at any time of day tbh. Although unless I'm assigned to go out flagging at a certain location or whatever the case may be in regards to doing work out in the field. I don't go out of my way to ride the subway when its unnecessary anymore.
