  1. Even if you didn't run the express, you could still fit the into Forest Hills. But why add merging delays for no good reason? And like it was said before, the express tracks are full. Unless you want to reduce service, which would be a nightmare. The bypass will be a waste. There is better demand for it to connect to east of 71 Av than go to the Rockaways. The is already direct to Midtown, and the would be the direct express from the Rockaways. Plus, most of the ridership will be north of Aqueduct Racetrack, already close to QB. Why have it terminate at either? The already would almost mimic the route from Rockaway Park to Bway-Lafayette. And do you really think WTC can spare more trains since the is at 15 TPH? I do agree on having Woodhaven converted, but the LIE line should be the via a new Myrtle Av bypass out to Little Neck Pkwy. The would take its place on the Brighton Line and the will take over West End. Branching it off of QB will leave 67 Av as a -only stop.
  2. The cannot halve service just so it can run express. It would create merging delays at Roosevelt if the ran half express. This also reduces service on QB local- unless you extend the to 71 Av. No one will accept only the at QB stations due to its delays. The bypass is a waste if it goes to the Rockaways. Extending the local will suffice. Riders really wanting express service can transfer to the at Broad Channel, Howard Beach-JFK, and the two Aqueducts. Or they can switch across the platform for the at Roosevelt or Woodhaven Blvd if its converted.
  3. Don't forget 69 St, 82 St, 90 St, 103 St, 111 St, and Mets-Willets Point. Those should receive the same treatment as 74 St-Broadway.
  4. Around The Horn is right. You have to underpin not only LIRR, but also the 8 Av , 7 Av , Broadway , 6 Av , and even the Lex , with the 2 Av as well. And no Amtrak or NJT would not want services in Queens since the LIRR and the subway do that job already and would be redundant.
  5. Gonna head down there on Saturday to photograph the new station.
  6. The only Nassau station that can be renovated other than Chambers is Bowery. Bowery would be cheaper to renovate than Chambers. to 96 St
  7. What about at Bay Ridge Av or Prospect Av? - to 96 St
  8. Upgrading the 32s only has to do with restoration of the equipment. You specifically only said "a few upgrades on the interior". While I can see the need for such a connection to Fulton for the , I'm afraid is isn't happening until after the shutdown. The 32s don't really make sense to stay on the since the MTA plans to only keep 110-160 of them, and also four-car consists of 179s are expected to go on the , while the gets five-car sets. IMO the shouldn't be full length because some of the cars wouldn't really be filled to capacity. We also don't have enough cars for such an extension to the Rockaways. And even if we do have enough, that would be after the 32s are retired, so why extend it in the first place? - to 96 St
  9. Wouldn't sending your proposed to Lefferts or Rockaway Park cause a bottleneck at Grant Av? It has to switch to the local at Hoyt, but suddenly share the same track as the at Grant. Also, sending it to Rockaway Park would make it wayyy to long. And why would the R32s need to have a few upgrades if the Canarsie shutdown is only for 15 months? The 32s would be retired shortly afterward. - to 96 St
