  1. Yes . As per others though it appears to be incorrect. Max pay is either 6 or 7 years. Also curious how much extra is night differential and weekend differential?? Is it the same amount?
  2. Are you certain?? I was told 7 years? Do you know difference in night differential, when it starts and ends?? Weekend pay? Holiday pay? Thanks for any info you provide. It's appreciated.
  3. From what i saw they get paid $2-$2.50 more per hour that's not a huge difference.
  4. Is English your first language? It most certainly is mine. However like LiRR medford mentioned. The first part was memory. The second part was understanding and interpreting of different scenarios.
  5. You were specifically told this?? When were you told this date of? Who told you this?
  6. If 3 yr wait i definitely aint taking the job. In 2.5 yrs ima be max pay and making $37 per hr . Ot after 35 hrs . Easily pulling in over $110k. Not giving that up to wait 7 yrs for max pay and less money.
  7. What did you score? I got same score as schecter 96.25 and have number 19**.
  8. Is anyone certain we are getting a letter that we passed or failed that?? Perhaps they only sent letters out to people who passed the opa. It would be asinine imo to send a you passed letter with your number on it. Followed by perhaps a letter from Opa that you didn't pass the opa exam 😑 I understand some people who didnt take the opa get a number however people who took the opa, should get the list number with a you passed or no number with a you didnt pass. Those who took the opa would know why they didnt pass.
  9. Im number 19** with a 96.25 score. Im guessing you got the pass score with a number means we passed the pass or fail.
  10. The second part was harder imo. First part i mightve f**ked myself up by skipping then going back. If not i should've scored well. Hopefully graded with a curve. Ima have a hard time picking nyc transit or the hotel job. I made $75k last year. This july i earn 85% which is $29.50 per hr. Overtime starts after 35 hrs. Free meals, free lodging at 5 star worldwide properties. In 2020 i earn $37 per hr. 7 yrs to wait for max pay with NYc tranist. I get free medical. Just union dues $23 per week. Next yr i should earn $85-90k and 2020-2021 i should be earning $110-120k. Appealing thing for Transit is pension union hotels pension is only $1,200 per mo. Thats weak. Sick days and vacation all about equal. Hope all of u have back up plans i only took this test and sanitation.
  11. Ik accountants with masters that are cpas that make over $120k at a desk job. Not sure why Dre is giving his qualifications.
  12. My starting pay is $25 per hour. After 2 years i go up to $29.29 got 8 mos to go for that. After 4 yrs my top pay is $36.60 . We are fighting for an extra $1-$1.50 This waiting for 6 yrs for top pay with Mta is wack but it is what it is. Night differential for me is $1.37 per hr. You know ampunt for MTA?? I know more . Also what is flagging. I also get overtime after 35 hrs and more than 9 hrs worked I get $12 extra for that day. Free meals for lunch and breakfast sometimes. Dinner if I'm still there. If it wasn't for the pension I wouldn't even consider MTA. Health insurance free albeit, dental is trash. No job is perfect but sometimes hard decisions need to be made. Anyway good luck to everyone. Was thinking could get in and then go to LIRR where it seems they get paid more. Went on their forum they make it seem real tough .
  13. While I agree he is being repetitive. If he did in fact get only 3 wrong and no letter. I would go to information center and explain he is aware everyone who got 3 wrong or less has received a letter to take the opa. Maybe a mistake was made or maybe he got more than 3 wrong. If only 2,200 or so got letters and he didn't other letters may not go out til next year. Maybe he isn't even on that list. If i were him I would be proactive. Just be nice and patient when going there. Explain you truly want the job.
  14. The first part was easy but the second part some of the questions were up in the air . As far as if you answered it correctly. No one knows exactly what they wanted to hear. It is what it is. First got maybe 2- 3 wrong and that's mainly because I wasn't super focused on second set of questions in the first part I was still thinking if I got 1 wrong in first smh. So 2-3 could've been 1 or 2 wrong . If I get the job definitely tough decision to make as next yr my rate goes up to 29.50-30.70 per hour and my max at my job is 36.65-37.85 in 2020 . As opposed to waiting for top pay in 2024 and $3 or so less. Plus my ot starts at 35 hrs. I wouldn't even consider leaving if it wasn't for MTA pension. I get free insurance, free lunch . Free hotel rooms at 5 star hotels. Those are tough to get though. Mta has better dental and better pension. Whatever I guess a good problem to have. Good luck to everyone.
  15. How long does it take to get to max pay is it on the 7th yr? and You start at 70pct? Please someone give breakdown . I think I had info and lost it .
  16. Took the opa test today. Got there 7:05 test @ 730. Test didn't start til 8:10 approximately. They let people up around 730. They had to collect everyone's info, take pic, etc. Test was done around 9am. Very strict procedures on taking test. Anyhow 1st part was easy . Probably got 3-4 wrong. Had to wait til around 9:50 til they started calling people for second test. I was number 4 thankfully. Felt bad for people who were late 20's - early 30's . I was done before 10:15am. So about 2hrs for me it took since the start of the first part. The second part i concur, was more difficult than I thought, as far as what answer they wanted to hear. Hopefully I did well. Anyway i asked the people in the second part. She said in 6-8 mos I will be called in to start the hiring process provided I passed and everyone that takes the test will get a score. Now maybe I misunderstood or she misspoke. Cause the lady in the first part said downstairs they have our test results for first part. Went to info desk and lady said no test results available yet. List hasn't been established. Anyhow something will begin in 6-8 mos from around now.
  17. I myself think i will go with the tuxedo and 🎩 the classic 730am look 😁
  18. To everyone worrying. Don't worry on what you can't control. You did your best.
  19. Think ima eat plenty of blueberries and maybe a few days earlier play some memory games. Thanks for the info.
  20. Wow you're willing to take an almost $14 per hour pay cut?? For a few years??!! Makes me not feel as bad. What may i ask makes you want to work for MTA so much?
  21. Great info. My Cousin who is an electrician supervisor in MTA thinks top pay is in 3 years. He's been in MTA over 15 years. So he i think is off. Is it 7 years for top pay??!! If so do you know the percentage it goes up year after year?? Also what is the top pay for Train operator, tower operator, assistant dispatcher?? I'm on ot now at my job making $39 per hour as i type this on ot. And next July will make $47.64 with ot after 35 hrs. I just dont get a good pension nor as many vacation days. Anf only 8 sick days. Very curious what route to take.
