Just read this. Focus on other jobs. Take tests for other places. You're parents are being optimistic. The last exam they kept the list open for 9-10yrs and they didn't get anywhere near 19k. I'm doubtful they will get to 10k on this list.

One year probation is crazy. Most places that have probation that are union it's 3 months. Did the Union fight your termination?? MTA doesn't sound like a union shop with some of these comments ive read.

I doubt many people can't get $87 from somewhere for a job they truly want. I could see if it was hundred of dollars. This is nyc $87 doesn't go far at all.

Really $87 is going to make people not take a job they truly want??!! I highly doubt it. I think it has more to do with the fact that people just have gotten other opportunities in other places of employment or just don't feel like working for MTA.

Its possible however I would not expect it past 95 and especially past 9325. If 5 years in you are still hoping for this job. I truly hope that person has looked for many other opportunities at other places as well as other MTA positions.

So u don't have direct deposit?? I would imagine they have to offer direct deposit. I haven't gotten a check in over a decade.

I would concur with Far Rock since he says they only care about felonies. Don't mention it and if they bring it up then just be honest and say it's sealed and you though felonies were all they were interested in.

Uhhhh sometimes I'm not sure it does. However I agree don't mention it. I have a sealed not even a misdemeanor a conviction. Anyway my lawyer got it sealed. I went for a job with the schools as custodian engineer about 6 yrs later. They wanted to see it. I had to go to court and get the sealed record and email them the same. They gave me my license I needed but it was annoying.

Ik that felt good. Cause once I got pulled over no seat belt, bus lane on the cell and the cop let me go. From one minority to another. I thought it was my lucky day went to Mohegan Sun and lost $2,700. Since then I've been real careful when going to casinos lol. 🤣🤣😭

So the 200 they required that new 200 list hasn't been filled at all yet?? Those 200 start from the June class?

I think people list number 1800 and up. Realistically have about a yr from before being appointed at minimum. That being said many have said they have taken the pre employment three times some more before they were appointed and also they took the drug test several times. Something like that. So I think many will take the pre employment up to 1800's in the next let's say 6 mos or so. However I think 1800's will get appointed in about a yr

Didnt I read you passed some signal test for T/O were you in transit and no longer? Coming back?

If they are up to 1320 and you are in 1600's I would believe that it's possible you are in a class or two classes after the July date.

All Union jobs are like that. Anytime you're not scheduled to be there is overtime. I'm just a bit confused how the mta union isn't that present.

My name is on the requested for Conductor I'm in the low 1900's. I saw up to 2000 I didn't wanna keep looking all says requested. Maybe all these people will get their first pre employment info not sure. Cause I didn't get an email nor a call. Which I'm glad for because even though I'm probably not taking the job just in case would be better later as I'm going to Colombia & Argentina Next week for 3 weeks.

Thanks for all the info. I hope you find some peace and some good outta your day. I work 8-330pm. I'm 3 in Seniority outta 13. I have Thursday Friday off. After 35 hrs is overtime. I get free food, which is pretty good. I could've had weekends off but my gf isn't off weekends so and more ot on Thursdays and Fridays from what I've seen lately. Going to almost $32 in July and almost $38 in December 2020. Just that pension attracts me. And some benefits. I get 8 sick days I can take em whenever I want. Me and a few co-workers are united at work and we'll we don't let shit slide. They missed calling me the other day for an overtime shift. I checked the call log, I claimed and am getting 7 hrs overtime for free. I get 3 personal days and 2 weeks vacation. I think transit also has a few more days than those. My Cousin not close immediate cousin but cousin nonetheless. Has told me I'd be a fool to not take the transit job. But hes a supervisory Electrician. I feel they have more pull and less of the bs. He gets paid very well and doesn't seem to hate his job. I thank you very much for your insight. And no one should give you shit for speaking your truth. Please try and get some help for the way you feel. Perhaps a psychiatrist or family, friends. Life is wayyyyyy too short to feel as you do.

I get not getting mad at the customers. More should think and act like you. However someone who works for the same company as I, it's fine if they reprimand. However it has to be done with respect. No one yells at me nor is disresptful.

They should raise the intermediate a bit and lower the amount for people who pay the premium and they should look into overtime for the people who over abuse it. Let's see this contract coming up what happens.
