  1. This contract proposal is detrimental to the unborn baby’s of TWU 100, retired brothers and sisters, and any current employee who’s fighting to make a live able wage to feed our families. Let’s talk about it. A majority NO VOTE will allow union leadership to return to the bargaining table to honor the demands of the union membership.

I’m in the same position. Best advice is just apply to any and all jobs you are at least close to qualified for according to the posting. I’ve been with NYCT for a year and a half and have like 60 applications since then. Been on a couple interviews but never any luck. I got called for a recruiting event for this position (Locomotive Engineer) at the end of September so hoping my luck will change, and yours too!

@J3737 Awesome thank you and well appreciated for that advice.

Have you tried calling (212) 669 1357 at 9:00 or 9:05 AM? If so, ask for the List, Management and Audit unit - they should be able to help you.

Also, note that they are only open Monday to Friday with the exception of major holidays, such as Labor Day, Thanksgiving, etc.

    Good luck!!

@+Young+ Yes, I was able to get in contact with someone from the DCAS office. As you mentioned early morning when the office opens is ideally the best time.

    Thanks

Thank you buddy and YIKES! I hope not... if it's true that they crank out 85-100 a class and every class is a 4-6 weeks in-between, i don't think my 1st call will be till till lateMarch/April. Even with a 3xx list number.

@HeadhunterCali That’s with the assumption that when they begin reaching out to eligible candidates for Exam 9618 Bus Operator everyone from 1-399 responds. Chances are….. that may not happen because people take other jobs while waiting for the call back from HR.(Bills don’t stop coming in) Don’t be surprise if your in the 2nd hiring class for that exam. Keep your ears📞open and eyes📧 peeled for the hiring/canvassing request. Good Luck 👍🏾

I'm 3xx so i wonder if I'll be closer to April then February 🤔 it said check emails end of February thru April.

@HeadhunterCaliNo, you would be a part of the February call backs, if not early March. You mentioned your list number is 3xx that’s relatively good for a test that only approximately 2,871 people took. (Keep that in mind)

Yes,  I sent an email saying I would like to join the next class. I didn’t want to leave my job without a 2 weeks notice. I’ve already missed this training because it started last week. I wish I knew the exact date of the next class. There wouldn’t  have been any point in holding off for this time if I’m going to be forced to leave without proper notice for the next class. I do hope the class comes soon though.

@JackDorsey Totally understand your position. If I were you I would call HR ask for Ronald St. Jean and get the details of your current position in the hiring process and when the next hiring class is scheduled to start.

Does anyone know why TA waits 3-5 months to publish the answer key instead of the week right after?

@Lawrence St It takes time to score the Transit civil service exams and place them into NYC Data portal. Longer process than scoring BOSS Exams. It’s a more tedious process compared to the other exams.
