  1. It'll remain OPTO unless it's extended past Essex St. Also, the M will run to Essex St during the daytime and evening hours on weekends. Service will continue to terminate at Myrtle Av during the overnight hours.
  2. Since I can't watch the video without a TWC account (stupid if you ask me, but whatever), I'm going to have to take your word that some other information was mentioned in the aforementioned video because the article itself just paraphrases the MTA service alert.
  3. It's a massive signal malfunction. It's been stated in the service advisories. How much clearer does it have to be?
  4. The way it's worded makes it sound like service to 179 St will be added on top of normal service to Jamaica-Parsons, not halved. That's why I'm wondering if there will be a reduction in F-line service as a result.
  5. Here's an interesting service change (starts the weekend of 12/14): Additional service operates between World Trade Center and Van Wyck Blvd Weekends, 9 AM to 7 PM, Sat, until Dec 21 11 AM to 6 PM, Sun, until Dec 22 Alternate trains run to/from the 179 St Station. I wonder if service will be cut on the F-line for some reason that would require the E to be doubled like this.
  6. I doubt it. The only reason why the 142 signs flicker between readings is because of the particular displays used. The 142s use signs made by Pocatec while the 142As and up use signs by either Luminator or Telecite.
  7. I'm just questioning why these glorified limited bus routes have to be announced while the rest of the bus network gets left to the wayside. The other local/limited bus routes don't get a mention. And I never said it was terrible that they're mentioned.
  8. Given that LCD and LED TVs are incredibly cheap nowadays, installing something along the lines Yankees... is suggesting probably wouldn't cost that much. Of course, this won't happen for the 179 order, but it should be something looked into for the 211 one.
  9. That's fine. Buses to the airports and connections to the Staten Island Ferry are beneficial to the riding public, but all these connections to the SBS routes are getting ridiculous, especially as the number of routes increases.
  10. The higher-ups seem to think so. It's supposed to be distinguishable from the other bus routes.
  11. @R62R33: The original plan for the numbered lines was as follows: - 62As - 142s - mostly 62s, some 142As - 142As http://www.thejoekorner.com/carassignments/IRT2002-proj.htm Politicking may have played a part in where the cars wound up in the end, but really it made more sense that the 4 got the 142s since it's a much busier line than the 3 is or was.
  12. Could possibly have been a lack of drivers. It doesn't matter if the buses are there. Plus, organizing shuttle buses takes a bit of planning, which is why you don't see them for unplanned service disruptions unless they know it will last for an extended period of time.
  13. I'm not surprised. That's kind of ridiculous to have something like that on Thanksgiving proper. Maybe for Black Friday, but not on the actual holiday. Hopefully it doesn't pop up again at the last minute like that Q suspension last week.
  14. There is no code for the R to Court St, so the train crew will use the standard "to COURT ST" code. This is similar to the F to Euclid G.O. during the 46 era.
  15. As we wait for 7211 and company to reenter service as converted 188s, let's look back at their first rail tests way back in 2000 Courtesy: Transitviews
  16. New addition to the list for next Friday's service changes: No trains between Kings Hwy and Brighton Beach Day/Evening, Friday, Nov 29 Service operates between Bedford Pk Blvd/145 St and Kings Hwy.
  17. I've recently finished work on the R142(A) templates and fonts. As a treat (and because I'm super busy so the less amount of requests, the better), I'm making them available for everyone. I'm giving anyone permission to use these fonts/templates for any BVE/Trainz/whatever project as long as I am credited. 18. Remember the old PokeRap from the days when there was only 150 Pokemon and you could still have a life outside of your Game Boy while still trying to "catch em all"? Well CollegeHumor has decided to update the PokeRap to include the now-current list of over 700 mons.
  19. One of the ferries lost power earlier today and bumped into pilings. It's out of service, which means delays on the ferry service as a whole. http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/Staten-Island-Ferry-Hard-Landing-Crash-231953191.html
  20. It's still a bit early. Sometimes, service changes aren't posted until a week before they're scheduled to take effect. We'll have to wait and see if anything's added in the coming days.
  21. Why? The 62s are doing just fine. Is there really a need for that many maintenance cars?
  22. I'm more surprised they're actually doing maintenance work on Thanksgiving. I guess their philosophy is that if the stores are open for the holiday, it's fair game for G.O.s.
  23. I doubt they're using floppy discs for this. At least I hope they're not. Where would you find a computer with a floppy drive nowadays anyhow? Oddly enough, there is an interesting constant in all of these errors. The erroneous transfer listings are either from different lines or from reroutes on the chosen line. The 14 St-6 Av transfers come from the line, the Union Tpke transfers come from the to 179 St option Meanwhile, as N6 Limited stated, the transfers shown on the option come from either the or lines. There is also the numerous reports of the "(N) to Manhattan" appearing at Coney Island on the options. That obviously comes from the via West End option. Like I said, hopefully this is fixed sooner rather than later because frankly, this is just ridiculous.
  24. It's not isolated to only the R-line programs. The N also has this problem, though with the Kew Gardens transfers showing up all over the place. Courtesy: BrianMercy1022 Regardless of whose fault this is, it's just another example of nobody checking something over before it's sent out. I'm just hoping this is fixed when the AAS is updated for the B44 Select Bus Service.
