  1. Some runs even have meal breaks at Newsday. I suppose the passengers will have lunch with the driver. Did NICE think about this?
  2. If the drivers working the Queens routes would make an announcement when picking up at the first stop in Flushing or Jamaica(esp. at 169th & 179th St) as I always did,the problem of pass. trying to get off before Nassau would be less prevalent. I even had my own sign that said "no dropoffs in Queens" taped on top of the farebox.
  3. I did that all the time,as well as any other seasoned driver trying to keep on schedule.
  4. You need to proof-read what your writing,as far as times go. For example-you say that 12:50 N6 departed 168th on time at13:54 & arrived Elmont Rd at 13:22.
  5. Speaking of reliability-the N19 back in the 70's ran from Freeport all the way to Patchogue. Can just imagine what the reliability would be like if it did today.
  6. Promise? Now we know why he praises NICE. A head injury did it.
  7. More like a violation for being off-route and/or deadheading out of service with passenger.
  8. In order to read parts of the N6 & N20 online skeds, you have to stand on your head, because they're upside down.
  9. Not necessarily. Usually it's covered by spares that just work within their shift times. Even some SQM's(dispatchers) drive runs when drivers aren't available.
  10. RVC still M-F. RVC very often has MF drivers sent over to fill runs due to insufficient manpower.
  11. Travis is located west of Bulls Head, near the western end of Victory Blvd It was originally called Linoleumville. The Teleport is actually in Bloomfield, off of South Ave
  12. Normal traffic delays during rush-hour are normal-sure. But like I said,to & from the beach is unpredictable at anytime esp. with the drawbridge opening & closing. Besides-I don't think N73/74 riders would like sitting on sandy seats-lol.
  13. It may seem like a 73/74 extension to JB is a good idea, but isn't. With the unpredictable traffic on the parkway & the drawbridge opening, in addition to various concerts & other events at JB, the potential delays would screw up the reliability of the rest of the route north of Wantagh.
  14. Wait until all the nimby teenagers from Levittown & East Meadow that ride the N87 find out that they have to go by way of Freeport to pickup & mix with some of the low-lifes coming off the train from the city. They won't be riding that bus anymore.
  15. It's called Commack Plaza, which is where Vets Hwy intersects Jericho Tpk. The Mayfair Shopping Ctr is east of Indian Head Rd on Jericho Tpk.
  16. What's the alternate routing when there's a problem on the BQE?
