    1. This year (and next year too), the GO could have ran from December 23rd 10PM to January 2nd 5:30AM, doubling the time that the work zone is available for workers to get more projects and upgrades completed.

You do realize the reason why the G.O is ending at 5 AM on New Year Eve is due to the New Year's Eve Service Enhancements. They did the same thing back in 2017 and 2018.

I think they did it last year. or maybe it was 2020. I think last year it wasn't done because of the omicron surge, and a lot of subway routes were already cut. (B)(C)(W) and (Z)

It was 2020 when they did it. Last year it wasn't done because of the shortage caused by omicron.

The (C) wasn't suspended during the omicron surge. It was only during that huge 2020 outbreak the line was suspended

Starting next weekend the TOMC will run express on the local track.

Always thought having these old cars making all those stops was an bad idea cause of increased chance of door problems. Will suck when the train catches up to a regular (1) train and will have to crawl behind it, that is annoying as hell regardless of equipment.

The only local stops it will be stopping at is 125th Street (Uptown Trains) and 59th Street-Columbus Circle

    Trains Rerouted

    Northbound (B)(D) via (C) W 4 St-Wash Sq to 59 St-Columbus Circle.

(B)(D) trains running with extensive delays in both directions.

Emergency services are responding to someone who was struck by a train at 47-50 Sts-Rockefeller Ctr.

Northbound (F)(M) trains running with delays.

Expect delays in northbound (C)(E) service while they share the track with rerouted trains.

Funny thing is the (B) Train from Brighton Beach was still suspended until after 7:30 or so.

Wouldn’t it make sense for the (B) trains to skip 182-183 Sts, (the Kingsbridge Road trips), so that way, the (D) trains that terminate at Bedford Park Blvd can continue using the local track going around the terminating (B) trains. It’s a lot of trains going into the yard after the AM rush all at the same time. 20 TPH going uptown on the combined (B)(D) and only 6 TPH of (D) trains going back downtown at that time, so the extra trains all dead-headed to Concourse Yard until the PM rush

Those Kingsbridge Trips has always skipped 182nd-183rd Street. They still do today.

    Check out this article:

    https://www.ny1.com/nyc/all-boroughs/transit/2022/07/21/mta-faces-decades-of-debt-as-ridership-remains-low?cid=share_clip

The MTA executives need to stop talking so much nonsense and take some basic Math and Financial Literacy.

There is no way that ridership is low when trains are packed during rush hours and they are packed on Saturdays. I ride the trains every day, so I'm not talking nonsense.

You do realize there's also the crew shortage that's affecting trips and crowd conditions in general.

The only time the (B) gives its R68/As out of Concourse lay-up to the (D) was that suspension that happened around January and April-May 2020. It did take out the pressure of the 2500-2767 R68s that were used a lot, even though they are just for the Delta.

It didn't happen during the 2020 suspension. Some of the (B) Train layups was mainly used on the (N)(Q) Lines.

They did this GO in winter 2004 the exact weekend all four tracks of the Manhattan Bridge subway lines were restored. I remember this GO exactly because it was the very first weekend the (N) was back in Astoria since having been cut back to a weekday-only route in Astoria (September 2002 to February 2004) since the (W) was the only Coney Island service and the North Side of the Manhattan Bridge was closed. The switch that connects the Flushing (7) line to the rest of the system was in need of replacement, so the pattern was:

    (7) - Service only between Woodside-61 St and Flushing-Main St (or maybe it was 74 St-Broadway to Main St). I forget if the switch interlocking between 61 St and 69 St had already been removed.

    (N) - Service ran in 2 sections:

    1. Gravesend-86 St to Lexington Av-59 St, then via the (R) to/from 71 Av (via 4 Av Express / Manhattan Bridge / Broadway Local and Queens Blvd)

    2. Shuttle between 39 Av and Astoria-Ditmars Blvd

    (G) service was cut back from 71 Av to Court Sq to allow the (N) to run with the (R).

Lots of R68s made their debut on Queens Blvd that weekend, along with slant R40s, while separate R68s ran on the Astoria shuttle.

No it wasn't. It was done the weekend after the Manhattan Bridge Restoration. I remember the Manhattan Bride Restoration weekend because Most B Division G.Os for that weekend was a Saturday only G.O and I rode the (D)(N) Trains the first day of the Manhattan Bridge Restoration.

Also the the switch interlocking between 61st Street and 69th Street was removed February of 2008.

Right now the base order is 535 R-211 Cars. Minus the 75 that are for Staten Island, 460 Railcars (46 Trains) is enough to replace 207th/Pitkin's Fleet of R-46's

Actually you need over 500 R211s to replaced 207th/Pitkin's R46s.

When the hell did they extend the (7) night suspension between Queensboro Plaza & Hudson Yards? I was so glad because it initially was was slated to go on until next week (March 25th), but now they extended the damn thing almost an extra month, up til April 14th! The QBL sucks donkey balls at night, trains crrrrawlllll at night because of flagging or workers cleaning the tracks, it's insane. I always end up missing buses and having to walk from the subway station because of that nonsense. <_<

Last night for example, I unfortunately missed the Q32, so I went to the 5th Avenue - 53rd Street station to catch the train. The (E) , (F) , AND (N) train arrivals weren't showing up towards Queens on the MTA website, so I went to the (E) first. Well turns out the thing was a whopping 26 minutes away, so I risk it and hoof it to the (N) . It came in like minutes after I arrived at the station, so I took that, to the (7), and got off at 74th Street and waited almost 20 minutes for the Q53, and caught the Q11 at Hoffman Drive. Had I waited for the (E) instead, I would have likely missed the Q11, since it was due to arrive Roosevelt at 2:08 AM, and at that time of night, the Q11 departs Hoffman every hour at :15.

They've been doing this also for at least one day out of many weeks before this prolonged outage started (on February 22nd), and they a similar month long outage back in October of last year.

It was always supposed to end in April. I remember seeing the posters saying changes we're supposed to go through April. It was only the weekends shutdowns that is supposed to be for select weekends in March.

All that being said though, I wouldn't necessarily be surprised though, if they just didn't want to replace the (F) with anything, if it happens to be the case that there's nothing going on in that area. After all, having (D) trains stop at 14th Street and 23rd Streets cost a lot of money, LOL.

They're also doing work on the 6th Avenue Local Tracks southbound.

The MTA should just print new schedules showing the true service frequencies. It’s frustrating that the published schedule is so different from what truly runs.

    example:

the (L) now runs every 10 minutes all day, also does the (F). The (M) and (R) are now every 12 minutes all day. Trains are now super overcrowded not just because ridership is back to 50%+ of what it was in 2019, but because the trains only come half as often during rush hours.

You do realized those changes are not permanent and they're supplement schedules until further notice due to the crew shortage.

They've been doing a lot of "signal modernization" track closures between 59 St and Canal St, making the (A) run local in one direction and the (C)(E) express in the other.

Actually there hasn't been any 8th Avenue CBTC related work since November. They're supposed to resume 8th Avenue CBTC work soon.

This is the typical weeknight version of this G.O. Why it's Sunday into Monday this time IDK

EDIT: Just saw the Euclid Av part, that's actually something different. Usually the Manhattan and Queens half ends at Hoyt-Schermerhorn and use the middle track at Lafayette Avenue to turn.

Because the G.O is being done all day on Sunday. It's only when the G.O is done during overnights only that the (F) will end at Hoyt.

And the (C) will be ending at World Trade Center that Sunday as well
