Has it ever occurred to anyone that if it was reasonable to connect them, they would have built it?

thing is, something like that… gonna be really labor intensive and expensive.

they would have to be regularly using it to make it worth while.

a connection like that, on the off chance it’s needed one day?

that doesn’t make good fiscal sense. Unless you plant to try to squeeze an 8th-SAS line in, it’s not going to be worth it. Send the E via 6th and be done with it.

Some of these folks cant comprehend or want to deal with that reality...

Yet wait till CBTC is in full effect in say ten years on 6th 8th Queens and Crosstown..

    Then watch the Fun..

Ill be retired and not living in this area so i wont care...

Here’s the thing, the non-CBTC trains could enter the QBL and turn at the plaza or even be sent the Forest Hills or 179… the issue is E and F service is too frequent now, at the rush hours a train every two minutes or less. We already have a rough go when the R drops out at the plaza at night.

I DO NOT miss dealing with that (R)omeo drop out nonsense and i wont be part of that again..

    Ever..

If you have a temporary vacancy job, expect at anytime for the original person will resume. Also don’t look for anybody to inform you they returned. It happened to me last year, so I know from experience. If I wasn’t in the habit of checking MTA insight, I wouldn’t have known and shown up to work that Sunday for no reason. So once again, keep on top of that to avoid problems especially AWOLs

For all this place does to help there are things one needs to find out on ones own.. Good advice..

I remember when the original plan for the 63 St tunnel reconstruction was only going to take six months, and broken up into 3 phases (roughly 2 months per phase), and now we’re in month 6, and just now starting the second track. Likely will be summer 2024 when the work is finished, but long as the work is done correctly, because the 53 St tunnel needs a closure of its own for repairs after being in continuous use by the (E)(F)

    Agreed better safe than sorry....

Oh its for RTO employees only that's what i meant my mistake.

Here you should document your experience in this thread....

I always check MTA insight as a pre caution because sometimes they can change your job without warning

If you have a picked Job then no need to check Insight and as a poster said they will have to notify you..

Now as for a reassignments with GOs..

     Do not trust Insight..

  10. This is for the newly hired folks or XX folks..

XX Employees are supposed to call the Crew Office on Friday(or Saturday) to confirm their tour and RDOs for the following week..

Even if it’s been the same for weeks or months, make the call assume nothing..

DO NOT TRUST insight or the IVR....

Too many AWOLS and wake up calls....

The most used excuse at 2 Broadway..

"The RDOs and Tours have been the same for months"

So apparently there’s an upcoming G.O. starting this weekend and lasting the Month until March 2nd-4th that (E) Trains will not run on the Archer Line between UT and Parsons/Archer because of “Signal Modernization” work.

As far as I understand, the Term “Signal Modernization” is only used when talking about the Implementation of CBTC, but AFAIK, the Archer Avenue Branch was postponed from QB CBTC so could it just be that these next few weekends could just lay the foundations for implementation later down the road?

There's Going to be a New Master tower at 179street  Which will take out Parsons Archer and Hillside Towers..

So that's the work that's going on.

    CBTC Queens Blvd "East" Work....

I am looking to join MTA and was wondering what the best area to apply is as i heard it is difficult to switch branches once you are in and I live on long Island so commute would be an issue for further places, From what I have heard the rail is the best for pay and benefits. If anyone has any insight I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks

  16. Oh and BTW regarding that Bulletin that's floating around the president of NYCTransit issued a memo they gonna come after ANY EMPLOYEE found out sharing anything RTO related Document wise on social media..

Whichever platform it showed up in is irrelevant.

So RTO Folks here keep MTA business paper wise off social media or deal with two Broadway..

  17. (B)(Q) train service is severely disrupted in Brooklyn until at least 10:15 AM

    (B) service is suspended in both directions.

No Southbound (Q) from 7 Av to W 8 St.

    What's Happening?

Emergency teams are assisting someone who was struck by a train at Prospect Park.

     (B) train service is suspended in both directions.

Southbound (B) trains already enroute will end at 2 Av (Via F line).

Southbound (Q) trains are running via the (N) line from Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr to Coney Island-Stillwell Av.

Expect severe delays in (Q) train service in both directions.

Kid surfing on the back of a train fell off not sure if he came in contact with third rail.....

Some of them will never learn until they are dead..
