  1. The Low-V charter is canned for sure. DD and I were thinking of going to Riverhead on Saturday to the LIRR museum but it might be canceled due to bad weather. I don't know what is going to happen untill I talk to DD thursday, but if we do not go to LI then I will come up to BERA. I will know by thursday night.

  2. Hey Zman, I was the guy with BMTGuy today at 179th street.

  3. You need to open up the sign box, it's kinda hard to explain though. Since I don't have that type of sign, I can't explain it step by step.
  4. While I held on to an R40 and an R42 sign for some friends, I opened them up and cleaned them and reset some of the rollers. Alot of shit shifts around when they are moved.
  5. Finally got a destination sign to go with my R27/30 route sign. Just some shots I took after work.
  6. Yea, thank you. I spell checked it but did not look to make sure the correction was what I wanted. Alex L- so the safety boots use some kind of hard plastic?
  7. Thats what they wear according to my friends father who has been a track worker for along time. He said they use that boot and a taller version with an internal medical guard.
  8. The boots they use are steel toe boots, but they have a thick rubber cap on the front and have elcetrical hazard protection. Here are the boots that track workers use. https://www.lehighsafetyshoes.com/products/details.aspx?productId=1179&lehighproductId=15004771&pageno=2
  9. Why dont they allow steel toed boots for T/Os?
  10. Saturday 8/29, BERA for RT charter with DD and some RTO peeps. Let me know what you think.

  11. damn man, that sucks.

  12. You going on the trip sunday?

  13. Ah ok, so misc. equipment is part of C Division but things like the tamper, rinder, and vac-trak are operated by MoW crews under the supervision of T/Os and other RTO emplyees assigned to C Division?
  14. Anything having to do with work trains and track work. Hell, I'd become a C/R and do RTO flagging.
  15. Ah, my mistake. I did hear the MoW is alot better to there guys then RTO. And that C Division is not as bad as A and B, but hey I only know what people tell me.
  16. Ah the old bypass, I know the trick on the R32 and older SMEEs where you did not have to hold it down every time you take power. It's crazy the way the TA treats there operating crews especialy in RTO which is why if I ever work for the TA, I want to work MoW/C Division. I hear that they treat their people alittle better. As for, having to use the bypass the whole way to 207, that is nuts and could have been a real problem had you had anyother door problems along the way.
  17. Ah how the times have changed. I read that back in the 50's and 60' and even before then M/M took pride in fixing their trains before and RIC would show up. Isn't the rule now that if you can't fix it with your vapor key or cab key, you can't fix it. Now what kind of problems on the road would RCC tell you to fix?
  18. I thought the TA did not want T/Os trying to fix things like brake pipe ruptures and other things that took more then resetting a curcit breaker?
  19. Thanks, go it in a trade with a friend for a red LED flagging lantern and a 3rd rail insulator.
  20. New to me Car Equipment Department hard hat with the old (NYCT) logo.
  21. I think so but I won't know till Thursday

  22. Abandon Rockaway ROW excision?
