    While that is not a uniform, it is done for safety. Loose clothing can get caught on passing trains or equipment and drag workers. Boots are a no brainier when on railroad property.

    There is a reason for that... Nikon makes some damn fine products. If you are just stepping into the DSLR game, get the D3000 by Nikon. I got one a few months ago and I love the damn thing.

    The TGC's measure EVERYTHING from the tracks to the tunnel walls to "hot spots" (fire danger) and everything in between.

    I don't think so, but I am not 100% sure. The trackage they cover is done on a schedule so they may take one of the TGCs over to the IRT when there needed.

    The track geometry cars are kept at CIY, I think there are 3 or 4 of them.

    Nope I only turned 21 at the beginning of March. I forget where I got my avatar but I thought it was damn cool and fitting.

    I have not heard about lead, I don't think they have any either. They do have asbestos though even though the GOH contract called for them to be abated. Also the R46s do have carbon steel as part of the car body, but not the frame so they "should" be ok.

    Thats not 100% true. It's not so much that is is banned, just that back when the New Haven line was built, it was "strongly" advised against. Something about a politician, his cow, and a 3rd rail.
