  1. 4518 should not be on the list for the same reason that 4241 and 3834 are not on this list.
  2. 5504 is now 1014---and it was in its usual spot on the Q10 today (run #238).
  3. The other issue; when are the ZF Xcelsior artics finally going to hit service?
  4. Some notes: 5355 is now 1001 5431 is now 1003 (there is still a stray 5431 number on it) 5447 is now 1004 5500 is now 1009
  5. The same driver had 9871 on Monday and Tuesday...run 24 on the Q53. As for Sandy, that may be the only reason that buses like the renumbered O5s and C40LFs, O5 CNGs and old C40LFs in Brooklyn, remain. I suspect that the last C40LFs at WF will be retired once the repainting of the O7 CNGs is complete.
  6. That is a repaint. 4633 is done the same way. Also, add 8796 as repainted with a white back...why the MTA is repainting a 17-year old bus is beyond me.
  7. You also have 1290-2041 open. I'm okay with not renumbering the 6000s...but renumbering the 5250-5509 batch all over the place makes no sense.
  8. 6568 has been repainted the new way. BTW, 4818 is already on the list and is an actual repaint...if you look at the livery---it is not its as-delivered livery.
  9. East New York had 5025 previously; that bus has bounced around like a government mule.
  10. LGA is back to what it was pre-MTA bus---a dumping ground. LGA, where old buses go to die.
  11. On Facebook, Gary posted a picture of 3870 repainted the new way. Also, it may not look obvious at first when you see it, but 4818 has already been repainted. The de-hybridized 3563 is also repainted the new way (credit Trevor).
  12. In the 5 PM hour, the body was still on the platform but covered up. BTW, 1 trains were discharging at 34 Street on the express track and 2 ad 3 trains were running local to 14 Street, beyond which local track power was cut.
  13. The renumbered and un-renumbered D60HF currently being retired from NYCT service---there are only about 25 or so buses in the 5250-5509 (D60HF batch) remaining in service.
  14. Not sure if it belongs here or not---but would it not be beyond common sense to train LGA and FR drivers on the D60HFs being retired from NYCT service to enhance Woodhaven Boulevard service?
  15. Not surprised with the remaining 1999-2001 D60HFs - the remaining Xcelsiors should bump them off.
  16. The ex-Bees are 17 and 18 years old, however. This is really where the MTA should have considered not scrapping the 8600s. BTW, also add 9551 to the scrap line.
  17. 5358 is now scrap...the farebox and radio have been removed it is sitting in the west yard at 126 Street Depot awaiting a move to ECH for stripping. (I shot 5355 in service today, but that bus only has about a week or 2 to go before it's retired or renumbered.) 5461 appears to be the replacement for 5358 at 126 Street; it was leapfrogging with 5355 today.
  18. Reconfigurations of some western Queens routes: Q19 - extend into Astoria via this route: westbound, via Hoyt Avenue North, left at Crescent Street, right at Astoria Boulevard, slight right onto 27 Avenue at 21 Street, left at 8 Street, onto Vernon Boulevard, through Queensbridge, and terminate at Queens Plaza. Eastbound, same route except: via 27 Avenue, right at 18 Street, left onto Astoria Boulevard, and regular. Q39 - restructuring so that the route does not make so many turns through Long Island City. Coming fron Ridgewood, the Q39 would run via 44 Drive instead of the narrow 45 Avenue by Court Square, and going to Ridgewood, the Q39 would turn from Jackson Avenue directly to Thomson Avenue. Q101 - current route from Steinway to Northern Boulevard and 40 Road. But instead of turning to serve Queens Plaza, the Q101 would instead be routed to continue straight onto Jackson Avenue and then make the following route. west on 44 Drive, south on Vernon Boulevard, and right on 51 Avenue to a new terminus on 2 Street and 51 Avenue...returning via 50 Avenue to Vernon Boulevard. This would introduce weekend service to a fast-growing community; however, it would also eliminate direct bus service along Steinway Street to midtown (although a transfer would still be available). Q102 - use the Q19 route into Astoria and then straight on 27 Avenue to increase footprint. Q103 - discontinued (see Q19 and Q101). I do realize that this may be a hardship for the western part of the Astoria Houses.
  19. I would also propose something similar with the BxM8 - there is adequate service from that area of the Bronx to the east side of Manhattan, but not to the west side. Both should be peak service only, however. (Likewise, the BxM2 should be peak service or weekdays only, as the 1 train covers most of its territory on the west side of Manhattan and 231 Street is ADA compliant
