Thanks again to you and The Real for sharing all of that information. Got it! I just was curious as to what QV was getting. As I do take note things are subject to change.

You are more than welcome. With the last 96 XD40's having temporary assignments, and the LFS' assignments pending, anything could change. They will start retiring a few RTS and OG's with these orders and I would expect QV to get both LFS and XDE40's. JA Still may get LFS at some point unless they all are sent to the Bronx, SI, and QV.

I also also looking into reports that CS could revert back to LFS/LFSA, and Flatbush could in term take CS's Xcelsior fleet. As of confirmation today, MTA wants ALL all SBS buses the be replaced with new ones. This new plan ultimately requires Flatbush to get a whole new fleet. Since they are getting more Xcelsiors and unwrapping the current ones, they may send Stengels XD60's over as well, unwrap the 5300's and give Stengel a batch out of the 5531+ lot of option buses.

  2. Ok, I'm not trying to sound mean or anything here, but some of you all are asking way too many questions, and way too often. Take those discussions to the Random Bus thoughts thread please or just try to be patient and wait. Usually when we post this stuff 80% of MTA employees I've repeatedly said when details are available they will be posted.

Please don't ask questions like "when will something go into service." I just spent 3 days updating and I still have to do Subway, and Railroad updates to complete. When we know, one or both of us will post. It is EXTREMELY hard to keep up with what is going on across all agencies. The roster alone take up hours at time just to review, and when new buses are coming in there is a lot going on.

So I please ask everyone, do not ask about when something will go into service. There were times of questions about 1020, 5439, 8504 and a few other new buses. Be patient please. It's not easy keeping track of all this information and answering the same questions over and over again or minor details that you can wait for until we get to that point.

I just found out today the LFS order is accelerated and what the process is. Is that not good enough?

Are they going to put artics on the B82 limited route before sbs goes live? I remember they did that with the B44. They had artics running on the limited route.

Thanks for the updated information ENY/The Real. Question? Excuse me if it has been answered or not confirmed. Is QV in no need of new fleet? The 6400s are the oldest and it would be nice if we got XD40s😁

The common theme is whatever is convenient Right now for how route changes are implemented. The B35 will go articulated with SBS only in the evaluation phase.

We won't know with the B82 or any other planned SBS routes until the time comes.

QV is said to be in the books for XDE40's. We have 285 total coming. 10 pilots are pending delivery now to Grand Avenue and Zerega.

  3. Lots of major updates on the books for discussion.

The first order of business: The Nova LFS order has now been acellerated. Delivery of pilots buses 8504-8507 are now scheduled for audit inspection, and immediate delivery. Official assignments are now pending.

The lead pilots for the hybrid order are said to be in audit inspection but have slipped a bit in delivery time as most orders do. XDE40's 9500-9509 are now scheduled for audit inspection and immediate delivery as well, with all 10 buses scheduled to be on property no later than March 31st.

The XN60 pilot should be wrapping up with delivery pending. In the meanwhile, we will not see anymore XD60's delivered until spring. This will allow for the LFSA's to make their way in and bump buses out to other areas, and for the XN60's to start displacing and retiring buses as well. Buy then, the MTA Bus order should be finalized, and B82SBS should be ready to go online.

The first page was updated again and my request that the official bus number for the XN60 fleet be returned to 1000-1109 was granted! 😎🗽 Now the story of 1000 has long standing New Flyer history. Thanks MTA!

Is there a reason why the B46 SBS can’t use articulated buses? I’ve personally been on the B46 SBS in the mornings and by the time the buses leave Church Avenue, the buses are standing room only going northbound. In the southbound direction during the PM rush, it is also standing room only after leaving Eastern Parkway. Note: comment in question is in bold.

It can use them, however parking near DeKalb would be a major issue. It has been and is always under evaluation. However for the time being, standard buses will be used and they will get brand new ones soon.

Time will tell. Just know none of the buses are at their depots. First page of the threat shows that they are Casey Stengel, Tuskegee Airmen, and ENY. But again time will tell when the buses will be transferred.

P.S. I guess I answered my own question lol.

Yep! You just answered it! Lol. And I talk a bit about it above. So projected time for buses going to their permanent assignments is now Spring/Summer.

  4. Ok the Fleet and Depots title post has FINALLY had it's biggest update in almost 10 months with tons more to come. Many of you have already noticed, and for those that haven't it's been in the works for 3 days. We have lots of major bus news and pending transfers coming up. So stay tuned. ALL assignments are official and now in for every bus model except LFS (pending as we speak), the projected XE60's, and XDE60's. Check the latests posts in that thread for the current fleet discussion.

  5. As many of you may have noticed, I updated the first page of this thread yesterday in preparation for some confirmation that we been waiting quite some time for. Now that it's in I will continue the rest of the updates throughout the day.

Some notes to discus: As of right now we have conflicting fleet numbers for the XN60's and will have confirmation in the morning of whether or not they went back to 1000-1109. (I really hope it did)

All the buses currently on the B46SBS will be unwrapped, and replaced by 2018/2019 XD40's 7667-7714.

5468 is at GH for training.

As far as JA going all LFS as originally planned, there is really no need right now seeing as the Depot will have many if not all buses transferred out during reconstruction.

Buses 9500 and 9506 are reported built and pending final audit inspection. At this time it is unconfirmed, but I have word that 9501-9505, and 9507-9510 are in fact already built.

Last but not least, everything has been updated except the TTMG link to the official roster. New info on depot projects has been added, and old info has been updated. Thank you all for you patience. All assignments will be updated momentarily.

Yeh. Saw it on the 41 around that same time heading Downtown before the snow storm.

They haven't slapped any ads on that bus yet?

I can only guess when the new buses in the blue and yellow won't have any ads on them when they come in.

I can't recall ever seeing an ad on any pilot bus though.... Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

When are you finally going to update the bus assignments on what new buses & what depot(s) they will be assigned to, it still shows August 2

Well seeing as things keep changing, and I've been really busy it's delayed just a bit. I will get started on it today though. My apologies for the delay.

Has anyone heard on when the Q25 SBS study will begin.

It actually started in 2016 if I recall correctly. These studies start long before the public hears about them. Example the B46 study began in 2008, but the public didn't hear about till 7 years later.

  8. Move Updates: 6038 was in need of maintenance, so TA decided to start training for the next depot that will have them.

With that being said, 6038 JK to EN for hands on maintenance training and repairs. It will then return to it's temp assignment at JK .

0020 is on the way, and that will complete the electric pilot order.

The hybrids (XDE40's) are now pending number assignments, and the first 2 of 10 pilots are now due for audit inspection this month. If MTA is satisfied with the specs the first 2 pilots, (one Allison and one BAE) should arrive shortly after. Assignments are now pending as well.

I started saying everything is subjected to change lol.

But on another note I rode the B44 sbs and the buses now have WiFi on it. So are all sbs units supposed to have WiFi now?

All the buses actually have WiFi now. All Expresd buses are active, and all local buses have them. However the LAN's aren't activated on any buses other than the buses in new colors. So yes it will pop up on any bus, including most all RTS', but you most times won't be able to use it. I'm waiting on an update now in the status because they are supposed to be activating them.

On 1/29/2018 at 10:49 AM, MysteriousBtrain said:

4700's will always be locals because of their slow Hanover signs and because they are not Cuomo wrapped. But that doesn't mean one can't appear on an SBS route occasionally (like the Bx12 does)

Will all the new buses coming in there's really no need for them to be anywhere other than on local service. But as a couple of the fellas already stated, it's nothing to wrap the bus in new colors and change the  signs out. 4810 had it's Amber sign swapped out for color, so that's not an issue.

21 hours ago, Cait Sith said:

That means nothing. If they can change the signs on the majority of the LFSAs that's currently on the SBS fleet, they can do the same with those XD60s.

Also, the long-standing rumor is that buses from 2011 and up are supposed to get the new look, so lets just wait and see. Also, they can just put a wrap similar to the one that's on the B46 SBS.

With all the changes anything is possible at this point. That was the original plans. Then it changed to 2011 and newer get WiFi and USB only, then it changed to 2011 and newer get WiFi only and just the new deliveries will get the works.

Now that the XD40 scheme is complete it's quite easy to change and of the Flatbush buses into it as they need to be replaced. Same with the LFSA's now. Once that scheme was set it's easy to do base white then wrap like the first XD60's.

Flatbush could get SBS wraped new buses and unwrap the current one as an option as well.

  10. I'm pretty sure the buses for EN could come from anywhere at this point. Quill, GA, and GH all have buses that aren't theirs, along with JK, and LG. Those are all temporary assignments, so EN could get enough for the B82 SBS and possibly some B15 runs. There should be more than enough once all the Option buses, Bus Company buses, and XN60's come in. So the assignments will likely change since Quill is slated to get 77 LFSA's instead of 15. That leaves just enough to rid GH of the ones they have, however, GH could get some of the options as well as KB, possibly bumping the 4700's EN as that was on the table for sometime.

Only thing we can do is wait and see at this time because things are changing daily and sometimes hourly.

    "10-car testing scheduled for 1st Quarter 2018"

I wonder if a new 10-car set will be entering service between now and march...and which line will it be debuting on lol?

Side note @Cait Sith  someone had posted a link to the board meeting materials and this was included; but given the TA's track record everything is subject to change...

Time will only tell for delivery, and it's scheduled for the (A) as it always has been. The assignments however have been changed and there will be more 10 car trains.

11 minutes ago, Cait Sith said:

Considering that there are folks that are still asking the same questions over and over, I would think that these screenshots would help over the link.

    Facts!

  12. Ladies and gentlemen, now that I have all the details on the table. We can soon get deep into this Kawasaki R211. This was a very smart move, even though it was expected and "unofficially" confirmed sometime ago. I am also pleesed the MTA decided to move forward with 2 OG test sets.

Final assignment are pending and will be finalized when MTA gets the R179 program ramped up. Projected assignments are complete and we will get into that when all is confirmed. But just as a spoiler, the (Q) is most definitely in the mix. Open gangway preliminary calls for (A) and (R) trains.

    Stay tuned!

  13. No. Projected delivery for 7500's would be around July-August. Where as projected delivery for XN60's would only have reached maybe the 1060's, 1070's by then and that's ONLY if they don't stagger the coach numbers AND delivery is on time. Delivery is already behind schedule. The pilot phase should be wrapping up as things appear to be going well.

Someone said things weren't going well with the bus, but that's not what my reports show. It was on the Bx21 and Bx36 yesterday, and is currently on the Bx19.

Web you would speculate 1020 would go into service? Since it’s st the JFK vendor sitting there for s while?

We don't like to speculate when buses may go into service because no order seems to ever go into service as scheduled. So all we do is base it on the scheduled delivery plans. I posted on it somewhere recently. After 30 days of issue-free revenue service, delivery of production buses will begin. 1016-1020 are all property of the MTA and have been for some time.

In addition, the Nova LFSA's are coming through fast because everything 5470 is built. I have reports that we are now in the low 5500's.

In other news, official documents now have the the XD40's series ending at 7559. As I mentioned the other day, the remaining Orion VII CNG's don't retire until 2019, so we now run into a numbering problem. The remainder of the buses are now officially unassigned. So take note of that.

The documents also do not show any signs that the XDE40's will be numbered in the 6900's. So we will keep you updated on these changes as well.

I am also going to get into the XDE60 order, and the articulated electric order which is projected to be the XE60 at this time. All the updates will be made to the first page of the Fleet and Depots thread. We also need to move these conversations to that thread and get back to this being a thread based solely on moves and transfers. There is too much clutter and many of the questions being asked can be found in that thread. Updates coming today.

  15. The numbers are a bit different and some orders have been superseded, like the 377 buses for example. 10 of those are actually hybrids. That brings that 285 number down to 275, but we will do a full review of everything in the coming days. Just remember everything is subject to change, and things have already changed since the last public documents mentioned above.

  16. All the buses are painted on the base and have wraps as well. Not all of them are the same

So now you all have part of what you have been waiting for. However lease note that as we have seen with all these new deliveries, assignments are being made on the fly and rapidly change. To date, EVERY new delivery has changed. Since the new branding has been introduced, almost every depot assignment has changed. With  at least 8 different bus models currently in delivery or pending delivery, and nothing really on schedule anything can happen.

The common theme for now is assign them as the buses come in.

The proterra pilot bus has green carpet seats and doesn't have the yellow touch strips on the rear doors, as well as a few other changes, seen in the photos posted in transbus link in the moves & transfer thread and a mini discussion followed, replying here cause its more on topic for this thread vs the transfer one.

I wonder if these are new TA specs for buses.

That was just bus 0021. It's the infrastructure test bus and it's just in standard demo specs.

    On 12/7/2017 at 3:35 PM, Jdog14 said:

Those buses are leased. The actual ta specs will differ.

No, that's actually not correct. All of our buses are built to current MTA specs. These are pilot buses for the upcoming order. They are just on a 36 month lease.

whats on order   from  nova bus

The first page of this thread has all that information. It needs to be updated, however the Nova information is still correct.

  18. Just calm down guys. No one should ask why anyone is getting anything the way this fleet is current set up. 5444 had 4 different official assignments before going back to Quill. 80% of the XD60's for example are not where they belong. As I stated before MTA is in the process of making long term fleet plans and we have more that 2,000 buses that will be delivered over the next few years.

CS was originally going to get Novas. However, the decision to pull all the Orion V's from service changed things up. They decided to which them from a Nova depot to a New Flyer depot.

JA only needs to replace 66 RTS'. The 11 hybrids can wait for now. Don't count on these assignments untill you see something formal posted for the whole fleet. 7484's assignment is temporary as of right now. Flatbush is still supposed to be first in line, and Jamaica is still supposed to go all LFS. However, things do change and as I stated now 3 times, as long as orders keep going 60/40 NFI/Nova things are bound to overlap eventually.

Not only that, Brooklyn isn't in dire need of buses at the moment. So these could be loaned to anyone or reassigned. Either way, FB will get some. There are 367 to play with.

When the buses are assigned, you guys will know.

  19. 5444 OH to OF 🙄 And for reference, it was very easy to overlook my post because it had so much information in it.

Update. Proterra blew NFI out of the water on the first day of service and the bus still has not been charged yet!! They also ran the bus in 24 hour service and they only pulled it in once.

11 broke down, and 12 was pulled in. Gotta do better New Flyer because if the orders went in today, it definitely wouldn't be in your favor! Smh..... NFI builds buses waaaaay too fast.

  20. 5444 MQ to OH for evaluation and possible assignment change or option order assignment. Note: Option buses have been awarded and will arrive all together as one big order.

The plan for electric buses is still B32/B39 and M42 with the addition of the M50. These routes have a few interlined runs and when they eventually operate 24 hour service all 4 of these routes need to be compatible.

12 and 16 are currently in service, and 11 is driver training.

The older total is technically correct. If the pilot for both buses is successful, MTA will turn the leased buses into lease-to-own sales agreements. They will then purchase 50 more for a total of 60.

The hybrid electric order for the next wave of buses has been confirmed be 275 buses up from 200 as expected. For a total of 285.
