1. An airline that had established interstate routes by the time of the route liberalization which was permitted by the Airline Deregulation Act of 1978 and was thus directly affected by that act.
2. Delta, American, United, Continental, US, Alaska, Hawaiiin.
3. Southwest.
On another side note: As of October 1, 2010, Continental ceased operations as an independant airline. It is now a sudsidiary of United Airlines. On that same day, parent company UAL Corp. changed it's name to United Continental Holdings, Inc.

Ahh, this is what happens when you don't do your homework. I had that thought in mind but I figured that it would have been the MDs since Boeing owns them now.
On a side note, SWA did operate DC-9's and MD-80's for a very brief moment when they took over some airline back in the day. I can't remember the name.

OMFG! If my professors, and drill instructors knew I couldn't answer this they would have a cow! I know exactly what it is! It's still in production to this day and holds the title as longest in production aircraft ever!

First flight was in 1954 and has been in continuous production/service with the USAF since that time.
You got me on this one!
I believe that would be the B-52 Bomber. Can't be. The first flight of the B-52, then known as the XB-52 was in 1952. IIRC "BUFF" production ended in the 1962.

Not a fighter.
You're sure it was more than 50 years?

F-22 Raptor
Bingo! Do you have one?

I'd say the F-16 due to their massive numbers & wide use globally.
- A
Nope. Not that one either.
Clue: This is the only fighter not available for export to foreign countries.

No. Those are both incorrect. Note the F-14 was a Navy fighter, which has been retired.

The Lover's Prayer
I once had a heart, and this is true,
but now it went from me to you.
Take care of it like I once had done,
for now you have two, and I have none.
If I go to Heaven, and you're not there,
I'll write your name on the golden stairs.
If you're not there by judgment day,
I'll know you went the other way.
I'll give the angels back their wings,
their golden harps and all their things.
And just to prove my love is true,
I'll go to hell to be with you!!
