While looking at a Bronx bus map, I realized that the Throgs Neck Bridge isn't used by any bus route. In addition, the Bronx express bus routes are forced to use local streets in Manhattan since the FDR bans commercial traffic north of 23rd Street. I propose a route that would start at the BxM9's terminal at Layton Avenue in Throgs Neck. It would make stops along the Throgs Neck Expressway service road before taking the bridge to the Clearview and then to the LIE. It would then follow a similar routing in Manhattan as the Queens express bus routes. I might even consider a BxM9A that heads to lower Manhattan. After the Midtown Tunnel, it would follow the QM25's route to Lower Manhattan. I'm not 100% sure these routes would save time, but I think it's worth a shot.
