  1. Most of the time I do notice the R188s are usually always staying in the yard except for the weekend G.O's.
  2. Looks like the sets are now being broken apart. 7811 was hooked up to 7876. I know it was destined to happen, Just sucks now that the sets wont be in numerical order in the coming months.
  3. I saw a 5 car set R142A around Broad channel. Any one know what it is?
  4. Caught Yesterday IMG_4473 by killa134528, on Flickr
  5. R142A 7221-7230 + 7900 was being tested this morning. Seems like both are gonna go into service soon.
  6. Im not the one to make stuff up, But I heard this from a good friend of mine whos in the mta. Im pretty sure it would be true but now that you say that im not sure. Perhaps you should ask someone about the R142As when first hit testing on the flushing line.
  7. Now that I think about it, How is this possible? when the R142A were first delivered, After some of there motors were taken out because it was running to fast and they tested on the flushing line and it failed because it couldn't make it up the Steinway tube. why would they end removing a WHOLE motored truck from one of the 5 car sets? From ive heard they put most of the motors back but with limiting speed controls for the R188.
  8. I dont understand why they do this, Wont it make the train slower? Look at the R160, That thing can take off so quickly, I feel like there just slowing down the R142A/R188.
  9. I believe the 8th R188 is still out in pitkin, only the 7th set of the R188 is currently at the corona yard. I thought at first it was 7211 finally back in service but it was 7232 being tested.
  10. I caught R142A (I know its an R188 but I like calling them R142A's because its really the best way to distinguish them between the newer R188s) Testing on line again, one of the car numbers were 7232. It had signs saying "R188 test train"
  11. I feel like there gonna do a 30 day electrical test with the R142A's just to see how it would operate.. Im probably wrong anyways
  12. So im on a R188 7 train and the doors wouldn't close on the train after the conductor repeatedly tried to close it. Eventually the announcement "Due to a mechanical failure this train is no longer in service". Every one gets out of the train then he close's the door. I noticed one of the doors indicator stays on but then finally close's. I noticed how he didn't switch the signs to "Not in service" nor did the conductor nor motorman get out. Then the train starts to move and we saw a bunch of people still on the 6th car of the train, While the rest of the train was completely empty. It looks like the conductor is still new to the R188s, Putting on the wrong announcement.
  13. Once they figure out the problem with the converted set, The rest should go into service one by one.
  14. Does any one know where the 8th set is at?
  15. Usually after mets games. Seems like the conversion is going on a faster pace, There now converting 7236 with 7211 in the corona yard and 7220 Now in the pitkin yard
  16. Theres always some sort of problem with that set. What happened to it now?
  17. I know its a strong possibility the R142A converted set might get coupled with an R188 but it seems like if they do alot of more problems is gonna happen, Especially since this is the first time in history something like this happened.
  18. Im well aware of that. I was just wondering if it was nearing completion or if it was being sent to another yard.
  19. Its only during weekend summers when theres lots of beach goers
  20. Looks like the conversion is going at a faster pace now that they got R142A issues all solved
  21. Thanks! Anyone know when will 7211 hit service again?
  22. R32 coming back after this memorial day.
