  1. Nowhere on the official site is that mentioned. So I assume service on each route every 2 hours (!).
  2. Majority leader of the Nassau Legislature, some see him as Mangano's right hand man.
  3. You know that Subchat "Train2104" is me, right?

  4. For the 54/55, 73/74, and 48/49, they're referring to COMBINED headways. So that means there are very large headways for those on the branches. And it's not like one could easily walk from one to the other in some cases (N48). N80/81 probably stayed as is because they serve Massapequa and that's where Peter Schmitt lives.
  5. Well, they're public now... Route/Schedule Information Other service changes not mentioned in the PDF's/videos: -No more N4 short turns -N17 restoration -More N25, N40, N41 service -More early morning westbound N72 service. -N4 peak headway now 10 min (originally 7.5) -N6 peak headway now 10 min, Sat 12 min, additional evening service -N14 time to meet trains -N15 midday/Sat headway now 20 min (originally 15) -N19 peak headway now 30-40min, midday/Sat hourly -N20 peak headway 5-10 min, Saturday 20min -N21 rush hours only -N31/32 midday headway 20 min (originally 15) -N45 rush hours only -N48/49 midday hourly, Saturday 40min, no Sat N48 service -N51 no Saturday service -N55 to Amityville, midday hourly, Saturday 40min -N62 rush hours only -N70/71/72 Midday headway 20min, hourly to Babylon -N74 midday service discontinued, N73/74 peak headway 40min My thoughts: -Lots of non-clockface headway schedules. Better hope that there's plenty of paper schedules available!!! -Why aren't they touching the most expensive routes in the system? (N80/81)? What becomes of the extremely expensive N73 Saturday service? I smell some corruption. -These minor headway reductions should be fine. -Paratransit service can't be reduced, so there'll be extra paratransit service for eliminated route segments. How will that be communicated to customers?
  6. I don't know if anyone caught it in the video, but N6 LTD service will be eliminated in return for the express trip(s).
  7. That's blatant rule avoidance/loophole abuse: they're keeping the peak service pretty much as is to comply with the rule/their promise that no segment will lose service at all times.
  8. I'm worrying about the bunching issue too. Old Country Rd is a lot more crowded than Prospect Av and Jericho Tpk is worse than Hillside Ave. As for the conversion of the N78/N79 to a glorified shuttle, it will artificially drive up the cost per passenger since you're only keeping the expensive part of the route. And the reduction of midday service to hourly will only diminish ridership. I hope they don't reduce the weekend span of service, it's already way too small.
  9. From what I understand: -Rush hours: Like today, Mineola only. -Other times: Roosevelt Field, 60 CLB (middays), Hempstead via N27 route.
  10. Remember, these changes are confirmed, but they're not all of them. Only those which involve routing changes have maps, there are probably more service reductions in terms of spans and headways.
  11. Through snooping around the NICE site I found PDF's and videos! PDF's: http://nicebus.com/_meta/downloads/NICE-n16Restructure_April_8.pdf http://nicebus.com/_meta/downloads/NICE-n23Restructure_April_8.pdf http://nicebus.com/_meta/downloads/NICE-n247879Restructure_April_8.pdf http://nicebus.com/_meta/downloads/NICE-n24Restructure_April_8.pdf http://nicebus.com/_meta/downloads/NICE-n27Restructure_April_8.pdf http://nicebus.com/_meta/downloads/NICE-n2Restructure_April_8.pdf http://nicebus.com/_meta/downloads/NICE-n43Restructure_April_8.pdf Videos: http://nicebus.com/_meta/videos/
  12. Meanwhile, the 5-member TAC has been nominated. Long Island Item Mangano's picks: -An Elmont firefighter, EMT, and school bus driver -A Morgan Stanley exec -A taxi company vice president Republicans: a financial consultant Democrats: A village trustee and NYC bus driver
  13. When I talked about a weekend GO I mean a full shutdown with busing like the or GO's, not a situation where workers have to clear up for trains.
  14. They haven't bused any part of the west of Bway Jct in a few years now. The last time they did so was between Myrtle and Bway and involved sending the up to Metropolitan. Full weekend shutdowns of multitrack elevated segments are rare, they haven't done the Jerome Ave in a few years either. Work time comparison: FASTRACK 7 hrs x 4 nights = 28 hrs Weekend = 53 hrs With nearly twice the time, why does it appear that less work gets done on the weekend than the overnights?
  15. Thanks for the clarification-I thought the restriction on night work applied to elevateds only, not for all outdoor lines. Anyway, the MTA released their 6 Av FASTRACK map: http://advisory.mtan...ASTRACK_map.pdf runs in 2 sections, 2 Av and Whitehall St. Buses run Grand St-Canal St-Bway Lafayette, and 21 St-Queens Plaza (omitted for some reason, see MTA online GO) But the isn't running at night, and that's not shown! And the is shown as an 8 Av express, not local...
  16. These I definitely see in the future. The and are close enough. This has happened before, although not for a few years now. Culver is an el so they can't do it. Brighton just underwent a rehab. Nostrand-what's the alternate?
  17. It looks like the picture is almost complete. New GO's posted on the site show the ( and ending early, with the GO containing a note that the runs via the from Jackson Hts to W4th. Now that all the 6 Av trains are accounted for, let's see if there are any stray GO's thrown in there as part of the project (like how the FASTRACK also involved flip flopping in the Bronx)
  18. Sorry I've moved on, Kristen Lewis should be able to do some.

  19. The cost and subsidy per passenger were derived from the per hour and per mile figures listed above the BxM4C report at the end. I presume they apply to all Liberty Lines routes, but in writing that post I forgot that 16/18/31 were PLTA routes and used different figures.

  20. I'm thinking about starting a website to put up all this data, any ideas for a domain name?

Request out to Rockland, data back from Westchester if you didn't see my post already, NJT contract routes clarified, thinking about asking Dutchess/Putnam/Ulster. Can't seem to find one for CDOT. Hey, it doesn't hurt to ask.

  21. Sticky this and remove the "MTA Capital Program Updates" sticky!
  22. Where do you see the to Rock Park? Note that after 12:30, there will be a one-way express on the in Queens.
  23. The Broadway Line is not part of the MTA's plans: they said at the board meeting that they want to each of these 4 closures 4 times per year.
  24. They don't cancel all GO's. For the 7 Av GO, these are in effect: - 2 sections at Bedford Park Bl -Jamaica-bound express Roosevelt-71 - 2 sections at Broadway Jct - single tracking Atlantic-Prospect Pk On the 6 Av week: -Uptown express 72-96 -No service -Uptown express Utica-Hoyt -Downtown skip 182-183 Sts -Jamaica-bound express Roosevelt-71 - single tracking Atlantic-Prospect Pk
  25. We're getting some hints at what the 6 Av GO will look like...and it looks like a railfan's paradise! NYCT - Service Advisory - © run express in Manhattan - runs local via 8 Av in both directions -No service in Queens at 10PM (early suspension? diversion?) - to 21 St/Queensbridge -No in the 63rd St connector (via 53rd? turnback at QP? via the Crosstown?)
