  1. The government requests that buses be in service for 12 years. Plenty of transit authorities have 11 and 12 year old buses that run perfectly fine.
  2. 1814 and 1823 are still running around unwrapped. Has anyone seen 1820 and 1833, or are they in the wrap shop?
  3. 1605 has got to be the worst sounding bus I've ever heard, let alone ride. Every time the bus is going over 25mph and the driver steps on either pedal, a very, very loud whine/growl comes from the engine. Think loud and less defined Prevost acceleration. Driver turned off the A/C midway, no difference. Bus did not appear to be lacking acceleration, though.
  4. Rare GO going on right now...downtown 's express from Dyre to E180. Will run until 15:00, also midday tomorrow.
  5. Update 19:53: Brooklyn end is back to normal is back to normal still disrupted still disrupted n/b runs via 63 St
  6. http://longbeach.pat...us-delays-train See link for image of bus on tracks
  7. Sent at 7PM, caused 30-60min delays, service has since been restored.
  8. 1576 had a beep-less farebox. Is this a broken part or a driver option? It also had an RVC depot sticker.
  9. The 6 Av FASTRACK for Jul 23-27 has been posted, and there's one change: the is running its southern section to/from W4 instead of Whitehall; skipping DeKalb on the northbound.
  10. S/B 's been bypassing 103 St for ~40min now, account "station condition". Anybody know what's going on?
  11. Just got off 1790. 1) The bus left Hicksville a minute early. Why would the driver do this, given that the n78 is not a route with runtime issues? 2) Is it me or has NICE increased the volume on the Clever Devices?
  12. Just got off a wrapped 1780, saw unwrapped 1823 this morning. 1814 is also still unwrapped and in service on the n79.
  13. The problem with this type of thing is that very few people get on the rerouted train because they don't know where its going.
  14. The Hicksville ones came in yesterday night/today, I asked for a June 24 N79 yesterday morning and they didn't have one.
  15. Saw an uptown this morning at 14 St at around 9:15AM. No email alert stating such a reroute, what happened?
  16. Two things from today... a) Saw about 25 people board the first southbound n81 (on time). Hands down the largest number of people I've ever see on that route. Perhaps they need to add an extra bus an hour earlier and reduce/eliminate midday service. B) The N78/79, which interlines with the N73, appears to be overly punctual. The first PM eastbound N78 left half a minute early (by my watch) and had to wait two minutes for time at South Oyster Bay Road.
  17. In case anyone asks, the number after the date is the number of days since NICE began operations.
  18. Sometimes MTA typos are careless. Sometimes they're really really funny.
  19. Just realized that the N27 middays is reduced to hourly!
  20. The schedules are online...no notice or anything, just click on the PDF schedule link for one of the routes listed in this thread. N16 and N17 are now one schedule; N17 now makes all stops N of Mercy CUT: N43 Hempstead is only when NCC is in session
  21. The bus would still crawl or the engine would overheat and lead to a breakdown. Of course with hills its a lot worse but the maintenance has gotten so bad that even on flat routes the bus can't go normal speed.
  22. Several time slots? So that means they probably threw an extra bus on the route and had it do extra trips. I hope its not the substitute to making them wait for the 27...
  23. Not all of them are broken, some of them are turned off simply because the bus loses so much power with it on that it would be terribly slow and die on hills.
  24. More N23 Saturday service meaning larger span or half hourly service? These changes don't look that cost neutral...meaning that there has either been a large ridership drop since 4/8 or those changes saved more than they expected.
