  1. For me, this is my take on the situation: Q66 and Q69 should be made SBS and routed into Manhattan down 57st to Columbus Circle. Q69 should be extended down Astoria Blvd to Flushing to replace Q19 service. Q88 should stay on Horace Harding to Little Neck Parkway. Q30 runs new route where it runs up Homelawn St/Utopia Pkwy, then turns down 73rd Ave to Bell Blvd, then heads straight up Bell to Bay Terrace. Q31 continues straight up Utopia Pkwy to Cross Island Expressway. Runs down Cross Island/14 ave, turns onto Parsons, then turns onto 20th Ave to serve the College Point shopping center. Q16 is split into two routes: Q14 runs down Bayside Ave/29 Av to Utopia. Runs up Utopia then follows Cross Island to Ft Totten. Q16 runs further up Union st to Willets Pt Blvd then runs along Willets Pt Blvd and Cross Island to Ft Totten These are just a few off the top of my head.

Idea for 5th Ave Subway: Jamaica-Parsons/Archer to 59st-5th Ave, Manhattan Bay Ridge-95st to Jamaica-179st The 5th Ave subway starts at 1st Ave and Delancey Sts where 2 tracks from the Nassau Line and the 2 from the Williamsburg Bridge form a 4 track trunk running up 1st Ave. The line then turns down 14st (Under the ) with a stop at Union Square. Then the line heads up 5th Ave making these stops: 23rd st 34th st 42nd st 50th st 59th st Two tracks terminate at 59th st (provisions for extension built in) for the while the other two take over the 63rd st tunnel to Queens. Queens Blvd would look like this: Current service pattern 71st-Continential to CI via QB Local 179st-Jamaica to Bay Ridge via QB Express/63st tunnel/5th Ave line Same except cut back to Whitehall. The reason I think this works better than continuing the 2nd Ave line south is because a line down 5th puts you within walking distance of all the offices along Park/Madison/6th aves. People will use this versus trying to pack the Lex.
  3. A lot of people like extending the but IMHO that doesn't really solve anything. is maxed out ATM peak direction. What I would like to see is a 34st Crosstown (8) Train complement the : Start at Hudson Yards-34st Stop at 7/8th Aves-Penn Station (Connect to ) 6th Ave-Herald Sq (Connect to ) 5th Ave/Park Av (Connect to ) Once in Queens, turns under 11th st in LIC: Stop at: Vernon Blvd-Jackson Ave (Connect to ) 45th Rd (Right next to Amazon) 43rd Ave It emerges alongside the Astoria Line portal and goes into a rebuilt N side of QBP. From there it uses the existing 2nd Ave El Trackways to join the then runs along a new 3-track upper level structure all the way to Willets Pt.
  4. I agree with the consensus that the SAS needs to be extended to the Bronx, but instead of running down 3rd Ave I'd just shoot it straight up Webster. Run both the N/Q up there with the W taking over the Astoria Line. N/Q can even form a skip-stop pattern peak direction: -Gun Hill Rd -Mosholu Pkwy -Fordham Road -E 183st -Tremont Ave -Claremont Pkwy -E 168/167sts -E 161st -3rd Ave/149st -3rd Ave/138st -125st -116st -106st -96st -86st -72st Both trains make all stops from there
  5. Hi, everyone! Any Q66 riders here? Why is this bus so unreliable? Jammed packed and always bunched. I wonder if Mr. Byford will look to address this when he takes a look at the Queens bus network. I was excited to hear the possibility of SBS on this route but it looks like that won't happen anytime soon.
