  1. This is just me but I wouldn't be surprised at all if Jamaica Yard fleet is 100% R211 if all options are excercised while it's R160s aren't sent to Coney Island and perhaps 207th to make the 10 cars while all the R179s that's currently assigned to go to the all goes to the lines.
  2. I mean if the is extended to 95th St in place of the from from Cortlandt St to 95th St while the terminates at City Hall that sounds legit
  3. I'm about to make it my business to email somebody in Bronx borough hall and Second Ave community outreach and see where that goes to fight for sending the 2nd Ave subway to 3rd Ave-149th St instead of 125th St.
  4. Wait so if all options are excercised and all 1545 trains are made that's enough to retire the R32, R46 and R68\R68A trains I think
  5. Or the via Queens Blvd Super Express and Culver Express ending at Coney Island while the via Queens Blvd Express and Culver Local ending at Church Ave
  6. Unfortunately you're right. I wonder what's the interest rates on these construction projects that causes for costs to be so high
  7. I mean it is what it is for phases 1 and 2 being two tracked. The or has the option of going to the Bronx later on in life either to Dyre Ave or along Third Ave
  8. I understand where you coming from everything has it pros and cons but as fast as the population is growing in NYC it's good to plan for the foreseeable future. Even three tracks would be better than two tracks in case of service expansion or even for emergencies. Just saying
  9. I'm mixed about the SAS being two tracked. By being two tracked there's no flexibility or room for service expansion. It's unfortunate but something is better than nothing
  10. The Broadway Line from head to toe needs some TLC. The setup is so off and incomplete compared to it's B-division counterparts (8th Ave and Sixth Ave). On a fantasy note, If it was a case where the Broadway Local ended at City Hall and the 8th Ave Local Line was tied to Courtlandt St allowing replaced the down to Bay Ridge, then the wouldn't have these kinds of problems. Least the is express in Queens. But there's other solutions to this of course
  11. Technology isn't always crystal perfect so gaunlet tracks wouldn't be a good idea. The and doesn't go to Flastbush anymore. The serves Flatbush now plus extended down to Kings Hwy. I never know how bad it was at Main St, but the extended to Flushing is worth the investment. So Main St is a conga line; wouldn't extending the further east to Little Neck (only making stops at Broadway, 162nd St, Francis Lewis Blvd, Bell Blvd and Little Neck Pkwy) along Northern Blvd minimize the pile up at Main St? I also have a IND/BMT proposal in the work but my goal with these proposals are to minimize trains interlocking with each other as much as possible
  12. Here's my proposal for the A-division Wakefield-241st to Crown Heights-Utica Ave - 241st to Times Square late nights. Utica Ave track layout modified to allow local trains to terminate here. Flushing-Main St to Kings Hwy/Nostrand Ave - via new "Astoria Blvd Line" branches off the under Central Park. Transfer available to 103rd and Astoria Blvd . the and now share the Flushing station and Corona Yard Woodlawn to Flatlands Ave - New Lots Line extended to Flatlands Ave Wakefield-241st to Crescent St/Fulton St - Alantic Ave to Crescent St late nights. Eastern Pkwy express tracks extended onto the Jamaica El from Alabama St to Crescent St. Proposing the Jamaica Line line east of Broadway Junction goes underground.
  13. Well in NYC it'll be much more expensive to build in water tables correct me if I'm wrong.
  14. Hey this was on my mind at the time that I had to share this one lmbo
  15. I haven't been on here for a while now but relating to culver express, my proposal is tying the culver express tracks at Bergen St with the Lexington Ave tracks at borough hall allowing the or to Coney Island terminating the at church ave. yes I know A and B division have different standards and culver stations would require platform extensions for the smaller IRT cars but just a thought
  16. Why not consider both? Build Phase IV entirely and connect Second Ave Line to the Nassau St Line and have one service go down Water St and the other down Nassau St
  17. If this new Fordham Line would end at Bay Plaza then extending the Concourse Line to Bay Plaza would do the job since they're already provision for that but not to say i'm all against a Forham Line. Heck the more mass transit, less buses and cars on the road.
  18. I completely agree; taking away 2 out of 12 lanes from I-95 isn't too much compared to the volumes subway trains can carry. Too bad I-95 is 12 lanes from the Harlem River all the way to Exit 6 in New Jersey... But on the other hand I-95 is 6 lanes once in the Bronx so yeah.
  19. The problem with extending the local tracks is behind the wall at 174th St yard is the Manhattan Expressway (I-95)
  20. I just wanna say this. Correct me if I'm wrong but NYC has been spoiled by direct services. If all of the track way were designed that it wouldn't involve interlocking like DeKalb, E 180th St, Rogers Junction, then this would be a perfect subway system but that's not the case
  21. Exactly IND put there heart and soul in for the long run. Think about if they hadn't went about and beyond back in the day our generation of commuters would've been screwed
  22. @CenSin: It's amazing how much they put into architecture and track layout back in the day. Nobody can say that now. Look at the half behind job they did with the 63rd St and Archer Ave Lines by tying it with Queens Blvd and SAS designed as 2 tracks instead of 3 or 4 tracks.
  23. I never said that javier but that's not the case; after 116th St there the line would curve under 125th St stopping at Lexington Ave (as the official SAS plan states and in my opinion is a waste of money) and there's the provision stub going further up 2nd Ave past 125th St for a Bronx extension so... the SAS 125th St-Lexington Ave station has nothing to do with a Queensboro setup it's to be built under the 125th St station according to the official plan
  24. Any extension into Brooklyn is great. There Utica Ave in Brooklyn and Staten Island that could use a subway A SAS Bronx extension is already a provision. We have the non-IRT IND Concourse that runs in the Bronx. Dyre Ave I see being converted to B-division standards mainly cause it used to be a commuter line and it has fewer stations, but you're entitled to your opinion.
