  1. I'm waiting for the spring before I even think about seeing any of these buses from out-of-state.
  2. The ORION badge is still on the front. If that doesn't give it away, the doors will - the Orion V CNGs that ended up here always had the folding doors. Look also at the rear lights.
  3. If that was an attack, that wasn't even subtle. If it wasn't? I don't know what the hell you were getting at. Just last March, a trucker managed to get onto the Meadowbrook and he hit an overpass. I do have to say, though: the state (not necessarily the DMV) DID try to do something to stop these incidents from happening; I don't think it's enough.
  4. I remember the DMV tried to start a campaign alerting people who wanted CDLs about low clearance signs and infrastructure. It seems to have failed completely.
  5. If you thought that was insane, I did the N25 to the LIRR to Atlantic Terminal to the to 33rd Street to Newport (PATH). I had lunch at Newport mall and took the same thing back. I haven't done any epic journeys like I said before considering what I have to do to get to college now is an epic journey in itself.
  6. The few long rides I've made with the buses here were in 2011. N16 to Silver Lake (which is only two blocks away from Merrick Road) to the N4 to Springfield Boulevard for the Q27 to the to Times Square. I wanted to get a view from the RFW all the way out. This was when half-cab sets on the line were still relatively common but when I got to Flushing there was already a train waiting to leave, but I couldn't get to the front car, which apparently was a full cab anyway. The ride to TS was okay. I walked around Times Square a bit, got some lunch, and headed home. I don't think I have the patience to deal with NICE anymore, and de Blasio's NYC isn't shaping up to be what he wanted it to, so I don't really see any point in going. Maybe when the weather gets better.
  7. Why all this speculation on rosters? Since the NICE takeover, the entire structure - one garage had certain routes and buses - has collapsed.
  8. If only I could live in denial as much as you could... but I did! I thought the bus was timely and reliable and that I was above people who had to sit in their cars... and then I woke up!
  9. Why has my college notified me TWICE that I haven't paid, when I distinctly remember paying the bill Sunday night? What bothers me now is that I received an automated email saying that the payment was accepted and two days later (Tuesday) they tell me I still haven't paid... what is this shit? I don't know why I'm so anxious, either. I remember in semesters past paying the day before the due date and I was fine... so what's different this time around?
  10. Speaking of the 20, when did LIJ open those offices near Northern Boulevard and Community Drive? I've been wondering what that area was before the 1980s...
  11. It's rare for anyone to stay on the N48/49 after Broadway Mall. If anyone gets on at Hicksville, they got tired of waiting for an n20 but needed to get up 106 somehow. I've actually been to Jericho Quad - it's a nice area. The parking lots are always full but guess how many people are actually on the buses...
  12. Those were loaners. At least one of the two garages still has their diesel pumps.
  13. Some politician signed a bill in the early 1990s regarding the CNG thing but I can't remember who it was. Maybe Hound can chime in on this because I know Mitchel Field wasn't that massive before the '90s..
  14. Hard to tell at this point. One day you will see nothing BUT 3G's and NGs. Last Monday, though, I managed to see a good four or five Orion Vs. They were all on the N21 for some reason. I wonder what NICE is planning, buying old buses without heaters...
  15. I think that space vehicle India launched should run into my sides if they haven't already, because they are in orbit right now.
  16. LOL In what? Ridership figures? On-time performance? Haven't you noticed that I've never said that I liked LIB? I remember them well and they didn't do much better in any of those. All you've done is go ballistic whenever someone criticizes NICE! It's so bad that NICE just deletes any criticism they get. I wonder what else they do get from people other than you. Here's another kicker: I saw yet another NG being towed last Monday headed south on Franklin Avenue. Those broke down with LIB too, - will you praise NICE just because they painted them orange and reformatted the signs?
  17. SBS in Nassau? Hempstead Turnpike and the like (rhyme intended) already only have two lanes each direction, are state roads, and are heavily used daily. Taking one lane away would cause even worse traffic issues than these roads already see. That post is a pipe dream at best.
  18. You keep telling yourself that, maybe one day it'll come true. Like I tell myself that this bus system isn't crap! The that ran the show when Hound started was not the you so love to shit on and as long as you parrot the same crap, it'll keep and keep.
