  1. People cannot into reaction images. Are they manly tears from the sheer awesomeness of the LFSA on the shuttle or are they manly tears in memory of the old D60s they retired?
  2. The mobile site works better on iOS devices (iPod touch and iPhone) than on a cell phone.
  3. Are bus operators for NICE allowed to wear gloves now? Just about all of them I had today were.
  4. The Banks Avenue stop on the N4 by the RVC depot is out of commission, no message from NICE or any sort of sign from the village of RVC itself. On top of that, 30 minute headways on the N4... I watched as the only Jamaica-bound N4 that could have gotten me home before sunset completely skip the stop and drive over the bridge. The two-and-a-half mile walk up Merrick was great, followed by watching the last N25 before 8:00 PM drive into the sunset.
  5. I've read gibberish that made more sense than that.
  6. The bus route icons don't work for now, I think Harry is trying to fix it.
  7. It does mention that it only serves NCC and Hempstead in the tiniest font. You'd think they'd run a few more runs considering after 2:30 the buses leaving NCC can be packed.
  8. Considering all of NCC's staff drives, that doesn't mean much to them. I was asking about where they were (and I saw one today...), however.
  9. This'll be another long night.

  10. With the new routes came a new pick... almost every bus I saw showed up late. Things seemed better on Monday. They only managed to wrap the N6, 16/17, 35, and they were wrapping the 40 banners today; the lift was blocking the N40 bay and that pissed a few people off for some reason.
  11. Speaking of the N16, where are those non-stop runs to Hempstead? I liked the 43 and all but the 16s that do come will flag people like crazy. The 35 might be able to help half the campus, but what about the other half, where the most people get on?
  12. For a second, but I wouldn't move towards it like I'd have a chance of getting on. I'm referring to the people who move towards the door as if they're going to get on a crowded, filled beyond capacity bus and then get pissed after the bus operator pulls away.
  13. The people who expect every bus ever to stop at a clearly marked stop (as Vittorio mentioned) are also the people who try to get on a packed bus only to get pissed when the bus operator rolls away.
  14. The bus operator for the n43 I was on pulled into another bay at Hempsead, so I assume he just had to get home. I suppose this was done at the cost of a few N40/41 trips, considering those used to bunch like crazy on 9-15 minute headways combined. They put signs up at RF over last week apparently, but the overhead signs at Hempstead are all gone. I suppose they'll re-wrap them this week because there was a scissor lift in the n6X bay, which had a finished sign up.
  15. About half of the routes at the Transit Center were rearranged. The N40, 41, and 43 all use the three bays that were originally for the N6. The N6 and N6X use the old N17 bay, but I know for sure they didn't touch the N31/32, N15, and N35. There was a crane putting up wraps with the routes on them but I only saw an n6x wrap.. People also didn't know about the 43 going to Hempstead. I was going to, but I was in pain all day and it kinda put me in a bad mood. The smoother commute home made me feel better, however, and the 43 to Hempstead was a genius idea. Maybe people will catch on as the month goes on.
  16. Another note: The "Transit Advisory Committee" is a group of 5 tools who donated large amounts to Mangano's campaign and only know about buses from what they see on the news, which isn't any better. The "LI Bus Group of Riders Who Complain About Everything To Make Their Egos Bigger" and that stupid group only prove how laughable the system is to people who have never ridden it on a regular basis.
  17. qjgibberishmaster's post (and personal issues) had me reeling. The one thing that still pisses me off is the increase in headways for the 31 and 32. My journeys on buses to Hempstead and Lynbrook have been all but comfortable and the headway increase will only mean passengers such as myself will miss buses and have longer commutes.
  18. I never pay attention to these because the people who write these wouldn't know a farebox from a soapbox and are going on what people say as opposed to riding the system *ahem* and getting to know it themselves. Wastes of life.
  19. I know these signs have stickers on them: West Road (NICE/LIB thinks it's "West Drive" but it's Road) by the LICM (N16 sticker only) Bradley Hall at NCC (N51 sticker only, says "Weekdays only" under the number) I wonder why they wouldn't have stickers for each route. They're basically the same as the LIB signs but they're rendered in the new font and the destination is directly under the route number.
  20. a tired mind become a shapeshifter/everybody need a mood lifter

  21. NICE operators might get the bus moving more quickly, but the N4 is still derptastic. I tried going to a sports equipment store for something which they didn't have. On the way into the store, five N4s Queens-bound came like clockwork, and only two the other way even showed up. I also saw one of the N4 short turns... guess those didn't work out too well with passengers considering people ARE trying to get to Freeport for the N43 to the mall or 40/41 to Hempstead.
