  1. This foaming is disgusting. Really... you think that extending the J to Brighton Beach would be good? That would require many additional trains and you'd have to suspend the Z skip stop because the timing would be off, not to mention a huge deal of confusion, plus riders on Brighton wouldn't want to take a J because they're not going to Brooklyn along the J line, they're going to Manhattan. Why should the B and J both be express WHILE the Q is running local? And why not just make the Q train local in Manhattan? There's no problem with the N/Q/R running on one track through the 60th Street tunnel, so it'll be fine in Manhattan. ----- Anyways, this is how I would do it: B suspended D local via 6th Avenue Q local in Manhattan Problem solved, no extreme foaming at the mouth needed. Absolutely no confusion to subway riders. ---- You guys need to quit it with the foaming. Extending a train to somewhere where it clearly doesn't need to be does not help at all. For example, if I were waiting the 25th Street R station and I saw a D or N pull up, I'd be like "oh, no problem, something must've happened and they're running all trains local." But if an J train were to pull up I would be thinking "what the heck is this? I'll wait for the next train because I'm not sure what's going on." ---- NEXT SCENARIO: There is a stalled train at the QUEENS BOUND N/Q/R 5th Avenue/59th Street station.
  2. What's your obsession with sending the to Euclid, when it's clearly not needed. Plus the can't all fit on one track without causing delays.
  3. Whoops, I've been looking at the wrong part. Yeah, I'll edit that post in a couple minutes with more accurate numbers. Edit: The and are definitely 12tph. With each train 4-6 minutes apart, 60 / 5 = 12. The others have been adjusted accordingly.
  4. LOCAL via 8th Avenue. Southbound: Via 6th Avenue local between 59th and W 4th suspended suspended northbound: Via 8th Avenue local, switches to express at 59th southbound: Via 6th Avenue local between W 4th and 53rd/5th northbound: Via 8th Avenue local then via the to Queens to Broad Street 6th Avenue Local Southbound = 30tph 8th Avenue Local Northbound = 32tph Might be pushing the limits, but it can handle that without any substantial delays ------ NEXT No trains can pass through the West 4th Street station. The level is fine, and the switches right south of the station are fully operational.
  5. Trains Per Hour (tph) Chart: I just thought that I'd post a handy chart with the listings of trains per hour (tph). These numbers are taken from the busiest service time, mainly the AM rush. I'm pretty sure my calculations are right, maybe off by 1, but it's a nice and handy thing to use. - 20tph - 12tph - 10tph - 12tph - 18tph - 20tph - 25tph - 18tph - 6tph - 12tph - 10tph - 10tph - 12tph - 8tph - 10tph - 8tph - 8tph - 7tph - 12tph (combined) - 18tph
  6. to Coney Island? Why? Via what?
  7. If there's a storm so serious that it causes power outages on both those bridges, I'm assuming that less subway service is needed because some severe storm will keep people inside and a lot of businesses will be closed. terminates at Marcy Avenue - No service into Manhattan suspended runs via Lower Manhattan, LOCAL in Brooklyn run via Lower Manhattan runs from the Bronx/145th Street to 34th Street - No service in Brooklyn runs in 2 sections: The Bronx to 34th Street - 36th Street (Brooklyn) to Coney Island ---- Ok, you guys need to stop complaining about these scenarios. Just look at what tracks and stations are closed and play the game. From now on I'm just gonna post what's closed off, no reason or nothing. What I cannot stand is foaming in the solutions such as people reviving the or creating an <R> for a day. Now just ENJOY this game. ---- NEXT No trains can use the Queens Blvd express tracks between 36th Street and 65th Street. (That means you can use the switches between 65th and 74th) Please be aware that the cannot all fit on one track.
  8. There's absolutely no problem with you posting a route. We're just giving our opinion and providing feedback on your idea.
  9. There's absolutely no demand for a route to the Javits Center and there's even less of a demand for Roosevelt Island.
  10. My god, this foaming is just simply unbearable. What's the problem with just suspending the and running trains local and via the between W4th and Brooklyn? - The is UNAFFECTED, WHY would you send it to Euclid via the and extend the ? That just makes it SO MUCH MORE CONFUSING AND COMPLICATED. - Send the via the , and run it express in peak direction? Extend the Rockaway Park Shuttle along the express tracks to Broadway Junction?? Smh. I'm done.
  11. Ok, you guys really need to be specific about EXACTLY FROM WHAT STATION TO WHAT STATION IS CLOSED. Ok, no IRT in Brooklyn, but what stations are out for the IND/BMT?!? Anyways: to Chambers Street suspended to Bowling Green to Bowling Green ----------- NEXT: Due to an incident at Chambers Street , no trains may pass through. (The World Trade Center is unaffected)
  12. Suspending the literally accomplishes nothing because nothing is affected the 6th Avenue express tracks in the scenario or in your reroute. Plus, you'd really send the via Queens Blvd express and then via the ?
  13. terminates at 9th Avenue terminates at Church Avenue terminates at Bay Ridge ---- NEXT: Due to a switch malfunction, both of the 8th Avenue uptown switches directly north of 42nd Street lead to the 53rd Street tunnels, meaning that ANY train traveling uptown on 8th Avenue (affects both the local and express) are forced to travel via the line to 53rd Street.
  14. Please be more specific by "causes damage." Are the ENTIRE elevated structures destroyed all the way to Coney Island? Is the Coney Island station affected with this or not? I don't care what kind of fantasy event you come up with, just tell me where exactly trains cannot go and I'll reroute them. (And when I said I can't stand foaming, I meant in the solutions. No way that the MTA's gonna revive the or train for a day because of some station fire somewhere)
  15. Oh sorry, the tracks are unaffected. Reroute the trains. Complete stations can get destroyed though.
  16. I'm using LOGIC to answer this situation, not FOAMING like this whole thread is. - Runs LOCAL between Chambers Street and 125th Street - terminates at LOWER LEVEL MIDDLE TRACK 145th Stret - Runs between Chambers Street and Euclid - Runs local in the Bronx ---- NEXT 14th Street/6th Avenue is destroyed and no trains can pass through. No foaming.
  17. DOWNTOWN: runs express between 34th Street and Canal Street runs to 2nd Avenue via the DOWNTOWN: via the to 42nd Street, via the to Jay Street then regular route runs to Broad Street - No service along 6th Avenue or Queens Blvd Please expect delays along the downtown 8th Avenue Express And I know that there could be better service provided, such as sending the through 63rd and the through 53rd in both directions, but that would cause even more extreme confusion to the average rider and would not be a good solution. ----- NEXT: Both Brooklyn bound tracks on the Manhattan Bridge are out of service. Affects the trains.
  18. Woah, I didn't even realize that... bad memory. But the last one was Brooklyn bound.
  19. There's no way that the can be on one track, and the terminate at WTC together. I would just run the in the first section you mentioned (to Broad Street).
  20. terminate at Essex Street (middle track) ---- NEXT Due to a stalled train, the uptown local Broadway-Lafayette station track is closed.
  21. Whoops, I meant Queens bound trains.
  22. Let me just say that the amount of foaming in these answers is just sickening. There are such simple and obvious reroutes for these scenarios. runs between Whitehall Street and Coney Island LOCAL runs between 34th Street and Astoria ( runs local in Brooklyn) Brooklyn bound : via the between 36th Street, Queens, and Rockefeller Center via the between Rockefeller Center and Dekalb Avenue NEXT: Due to a train derailment, the Brooklyn bound local track at Broadway-Lafayette is blocked off. Try to be as realistic as possible, and try to make the changes least confusing to the average rider.
