  1. Switches: Express tracks at Columbus Circle connect to 6th Avenue Express tracks at 42nd Street connect to 53rd Street All others are set to straight - Local between 125th Street and Canal Street - Suspended - Express between 42nd Street and Canal Street And because I know a certain someone will give me some trains per hour crap about this, so there may be some delays having the crisscross with the before WTC/Chambers, but it's only a combined 26tph and the have 30tph and handle the merging fine. --- NEXT Due to a signal malfunction, the switches directly south of the West 4th Street station are stuck in their reverse positions. Reroute the trains. Try to be as realistic as possible, and try to make the changes least confusing to the average rider.
  2. To anyone who is filling requests here: Would you be willing to send me whatever file you have with all the letters and numbers (I assume it's just some image file?) and have me create an automated generator that will allow users to create their own? Similar to what I've done with Amtrak7's Nyc Bus Stop Signs (my automated generator). I will make sure to definitely give you credit once I complete it. Please send me a private message if you'd be willing to!
  3. What the hell does "All trains must run to Lefferts" mean? Are there so many broken switches that makes the CPW local go to Lefferts and Lefferts only? In that case the lines would all be affected also.
  4. What? This makes no sense at all. What's stopping me from saying to suspend all train service and create a new line, let's call it the X train and send it along the current line? NEXT Due to an underground bomb, no trains can pass through the City Hall station or the City Hall train loop. (The 4, 5, 6 cannot all fit on one track)
  5. A 12 year old child who's lived in this country for less than a year could speak better English than him. If he actually took the time to construct a well thought out post that didn't sound like he was screaming with his random caps and thousands of exclamation marks I'd respect him, even if his ideas are crazy.
  6. - Runs between the Bronx and Chambers Street - Suspended - Two sections: The Bronx to Brooklyn Bridge Bowling Green to New Lots Avenue via LOCAL - Two sections: The Bronx to Brooklyn Bridge Bowling Green to Flatbush Avenue via LOCAL - Local entire route, runs on the line between W 4th and Jay Street - Suspended - Terminate at Chambers Street NEXT Due to a fire at Grand Street , the entire station is closed and impassible, while at the same time a 12-9 happened on the uptown Canal Street track, closing off all uptown trains (the downtown side is fine).
  7. Honestly the best way to do it in such a case would to have the run local between 14th and 34th, even if it does cause some delays. But anyways... local between 14th and 34th suspended extended to New Lots NEXT Due to an explosion, the train City Hall loop is covered in rubble as well as the train tunnels between Park Place and Fulton Street, leaving them impassible.

I'm pretty sure that in a case of an emergency like this the MTA will just suspend all Queens express buses, but it was fun to play around with this.
  11. Uptown trains run EXPRESS between Chambers Street and 34th Street Uptown trains run via 6th Avenue between W 4th Street and 53rd Street/5th Avenue 6th Avenue can accommodate the like when there's been previous emergency reroutes during the height of rush hour. 13. trains run in two sections: Broad Street to Metropolitan Ave (via the ) Broadway Junction to Jamaica Center NEXT The Lower Level at 7th Ave/53rd Street is closed and impassible. (Queensbound and Uptown ()
  14. Your post is quite vague. Are trains unable to use the Broadway Junction and Jay Street stops, or just not travel in between them? Are trains unaffected at Jay Street? And what does trains out north of Broadway Junction mean? No trains can travel between 14th/8th and Broadway Junction? Anyways... - Two sections: 207th to WTC LOCAL; Euclid Ave to Lefferts/Rockaways - Suspended - Runs between Atlantic Ave and Canarsie ONLY Free shuttle bus: Myrtle Ave to Bedford Ave to Marcy Ave

  16. Same way the can fit through one tunnel at rush hour.
  17. trains run via the line between Manhattan and Queens. NEXT Queens Plaza station is impassable.
  18. Yeah, the seating layout's a bit annoying also. Seriously, only one single seat? Based on previous experiences, Upper East Siders, me included, hate having to sit next to anyone else, and when I took the new bus everyone in the back just took the outside seat (some with their bag on the other seat) so that nobody would try and sit with them. And the seats facing each other are just plain wrong. There's absolutely no leg room there at all.
  19. Wish I could say the same about the interior. The yellow pillars don't look good at all. I took one the other day and I can definitely say that they're much less comfortable than the other buses we have running here. Not only do the seats feel like they're made so cheaply, but it was just awful being so close to the ground going through Central Park. I could practically feel every bump and pothole we ran over, and the "please use back door" and "press yellow tape to open door" announcements got quite irritating after a while.
  20. Ok. Seriously, what exactly do you mean by that? Well anyways, I'm doing it the logical way that the MTA might actually do if such a situation were to arise: - No trains south of 42nd Street, Times Square - Run via the between the Bronx and Brooklyn - No trains south of 42nd Street, Times Square - Runs local entire route - Extended to New Lots Ave - Runs local east of Franklin Ave And umm, alternates are: - train from 59th Street, Columbus Circle for access to the West Side - train from 42nd Street, Times Square to Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn to continue your trip - train from 42nd Street, Times Square for lower Manhattan NEXT The downtown platform at 42nd Street is out of service and trains cannot pass through.
  21. There's quite a few on the M79 and M86 now. Also saw one the other day on the M31.
  22. trains run in 2 segments: - Between Queens and 42nd Street - Between Delancey Street and Brooklyn trains terminate at Delancey Street NEXT Due to a police investigation, the both of the two middle tracks at Canal Street out of service. How would you reroute service?
  23. Alternate service? Ok. Build the to 125th Street and provide double service to provide for commuters who would be taking the . Seriously, what did you want me to do? Increase service on the (? The have absolutely no close alternatives in Manhattan. Best thing to do would increase service on the M101 LTD and the M15 SBS.
  24. Run the via the and decrease service on the ? NEXT Due to emergency track work, the Queensbound tunnel is out of service.
