Drastic measures need to be taken in Nassau & Suffolk Counties over people who don't treat driving as seriously as it should be! I am not even kidding when I say Cuomo needs to call a state of emergency on the dangerous driving in Nassau and Suffolk county... Either all driving convictions need to "non tolerance" suspending licences upon conviction for 30 days OR immediately make everyone living in Nassau and Suffolk a written test again. If you can't pass the written test you have no business driving, and you won't be driving until you can pass the test.
I know I may get shit for this or told I'm over reacting/making too big a deal, but why do people have to die everyday, out your lives in danger, you family and friends lives in danger because Nassau, Suffolk, and the State will do nothing!?!
Oh why oh why do those NICE buses have to suffer damage everday? Oh woo is me! PREACH IT BROTHA.

Another accident? Sure seems to be alot lately, heard of one on the n19 and in Manhasset last week. The roads seem to be getting more dangerous lately.
Yeah, that was posted on Subchat. However, I don't know why they reported the bus from the accident in Manhasset being towed north into Manorhaven.

1748 was in an accident in Hicksville. It collided with another car near the intersection where the n22 makes the turn to begin its route.

I believe its painted, not wrapped.1808 spotted on the N4, wrapped up and everything.

Whoever was driving 1709 on the N20 Limited to Flushing today had no idea what he was doing. I was behind him and he was stopping short, kept braking and speeding up, and almost hit another car at Douglaston Pkwy.

I wonder if NICE buses still have this code in them:

I wanted to do a throwback yesterday, and I forgot to post it, but here it is:
Going back to 3/14/2008 when this happened in Garden City at Old Country Rd & Wetherill Street to LI Bus #136

Yes, in other words the 3Gs, and thats exactly what Orion said in the post above yours.Only bus with 1840's and aboves have Spanish turning announcement. 1500s, 1600s, 1700s only have English turn announcement if turning announcement is working.

I got a lot of stuff to post tonight guys!

6078 is broken down at Northern Blvd and Alameda Ave (southern end) on the Q12 heading west. An Orion VII HEV just pulled up behind the bus to pick up the stuck passengers!

Well, it doesn't nessesarily have to be daily (going to an appointment once a week would count) and I would put grocery shopping into the category of relying on the bus. But I'm only referring to local grocery shopping. Taking a bus a couple of miles to a grocery store because the grocery stores in your neighborhood are too expensive or have too poor quality is one thing. Taking a bus to a store 20 miles away for the hell of it is another thing.
I mean, when people say seniors rely on buses, they're usually not using them every single day, and they don't risk getting fired or failing a class if they're late, but they do depend on them.
Besides his friend in White Plains, he mentioned he takes the bus for miles to go to Whole Foods when there are probably several similar local super markets that sell organic food in Flushing where he lives. When I say seniors rely on buses, that usually is to get to a doctor whose office isn't nearby or some other appt. Yuki has said on several occassions that he takes the bus for the hell of it because he posts his trips here that go in circles and zig-zags with no real destination. I'm not saying thats bad, even though he doesn't have a job, but he shouldn't say he "relys" on the bus.

It's not relying on them if you don't have to take them daily to get to, say, work or school.I do also rely on all of them.
I sometimes use Bee-Line bus when I visit my retired museum friend, well as White Plains/Yonkers Whole Food.
I rely on NICE to go to TAC, LIBRU, Arby's, IKEA Hicksville, Whole Foods Manhasett/Jericho.
I rely on NICE/SCT sometimes to Lake Grove Whole Food.

@Yuki Yeah, the n20 detour for Great Neck, and inside Queens in Little Neck and Douglaston. Although we know they'll most likely take the LIE service road.
If the sign was in good condition and not ripped or written on, you should have taken it and kept it as a sovenir!1618 had a service advisory poster it from Sandy.

Yeah, being anything more than 5 minutes early, there really isn't an excuse for because of the slowness of the bus and the amount of lights they get stuck at.
No, not all jobs require a college degree, Maybe only the ones you looked at and wanted, but there are jobs at stores and supermarkets that probably don't require any experience at all. Most jobs required college degreed.
I asked MET Museum if I could volunteer, but they told me I have to have college degree.

Some NICE riders wait for 20 minutes before schedule arrival time, because some riders don't trust NICE Bus.
Yeah, but if a bus comes 2-3 minutes earlier, we don't need a complaint from LIBRU or a complaint on this forum every time. If a bus is within 10 minutes (early or late) of its scheduled time, it is because of the lights in Nassau that's it not directly on schedule on the dot. You and LIBRU need to stop blaming the drivers.

Who wants to know more about Hicksville?

1833 is still white with LIB colors. Just saw it on the N20!

The new programs definitely look better than the old ones!

Word has it that 8000, 8018 and 8051 have had their signs changed to Luminator Titans, any confirmation on that?
hmm
They still have AXion Controllers/ODKs, it's prolly just the new program. I'll check though
Yeah, I heard that rumor as well, but then somebody else clarified that it was just a new program like dmouse said.

It goes to Broadway Mall and Hicksville LIRR.Out of curiosity, what makes it slower (does it make more stops or something)? And when it leaves campus, does it go to Hicksville or something, or do you mean it connects with the N20 at a stop outside the campus?

What is Rides Unlimited Nassau and Suffolk anyway? I see their buses all the time.
I think its just another handicapped service. Maybe this will help:

7601 was in Freeport, on Henry St. between Sunrise HWY & Freeport LIRR, does anyone know why? Also, I'm not sure if there was another bus that went by a few minutes before or if 7601 circled back around and parked (I couldn't make out the number).
You'll usually see a lot of buses on Sunrise Hwy because that's the route they usually take to go out to the Detroit Diesel facility in Ronkonkoma.
If he was stopped, maybe he was taking a driving break, stretching his legs..

But look in the message, it says that the extra n54 will start in Hicksville.
Yeah, a bus was probably finishing up a run in Hicksville or they decided, hey forget a run on the n80/81 or one of the lesser routes, the n54 is more important, so they had a bus deadhead to the breakdown spot.

Look at the NICE logo below the 2nd passenger window. Notice its not one of those white pieces of wrap with the NICE logo printed on it just slabbed onto the bus. This looks like its a cut out decal kind of (or maybe the usual white part is transparent)?
