Because it was originally supposed to be a 4 track line. If it were a 4 track line, the B would be local to Bedford Park Blvd at all times no matter what.

Nah, the (D) would still replace it, of peak. Obviously, The four track would be a waste being that the (4) is parallel to that corridor.....

Would combining the x27 & x28 be good in terms or gaining ridership?

No, for god's sake, please. In reality, that would slow the commute to Manhattan on top of using heavy traffic of the BQE. Eventually, it'll push ridership to the subway which may makes the express buses useless..... Let those areas have their routes and keep the trip directly to their start/finish destinations....

Not all of the R142As got converted to R188s. Just 7211-7590 with cars 6-10 having a “C” car installed between “9” & “10” cars. 7591-7670 went to the (4) to merge with 7671-7810. When they install the CBTC & ATO equipment for the R142As, you can substitute 2 R62As and put them on CBTC ready tracks, for clearance testing. R142s 1101-1250 & 6301-7180 will also get CBTC & ATO equipment installed very soon. With CBTC, T/Os must follow the rules of the road. I saw a large difference between old signaling and CBTC signaling: when trains passes an old signal, the lights turn from red to yellow to stale green. On CBTC, the signals stay red. Signals will flash green lights 5 minutes before a train arrives. Signal lights for CBTC tracking are very far ——— say about 2 to three stations apart or near a cross track signal.

No kidding, only adding to the point in reference to the R262s replacing the R62s BEFORE CBTC is installed and ready.... That's what he's saying.

So it looks like the R211 exterior LED sign on the A won’t include “8 Ave Exp” and “Fulton St Exp”. Instead, it just displays “Far Rockaway” and then “Via JFK Airport”. I guess people will have to rely on the FIND display then.

    That's the A Shuttle program.....

I wonder what THOSE fleet numbers will be, give or take: 3330-3349 or 2930-2949.

My money is on 4500-4519 or 3328-3347, doesn't matter really because 3328-4059 = 732 cars (the 4-cars sets can use a consist from 3328-3359 or 4028-4059) so from 4500 to end at 4864 (365 cars). The R211S' can use either 2925-2999 or below any pattern below 1000 matching the R44SIR. Just my take on it.

just to be clear, which lines will get the r211's and r160's and r68's

R211s: (A)(C)(E)(N)(Q)(R)(W)(F)(G) i would think if it's Pitkin (Base), Coney Island/Jamaica (Op 1) and Coney Island/Pitkin or Jamaica (Op 2+the 4-car sets) because of the chances of the CBTC installation to be processed on a faction of those lines and needed fleet expansions. I'm not gonna rule out Concourse as a contenter but anything can happen.

Jamaica can keep 70% of their R160s, the other can be moved to Coney Island and/or (oddly enough) Concourse, maybe even 207th but that's almost weird to me, i guess. The R68/68As can stay where are or be moved before their replacements are planned like the 46s did.

Open cars past 7936: 7937-8100. It does not have to end at 7959. That was the order for the R28 (7860-7959) that left 7960-7999 open. 8000-8009 was mixture of prototype trains that was never ordered for the BMT and later, the R110A’s 8001-8010. 8010-8019 was R11/34 & 8020-8100 was originally R27s of the 1960s that went up to 8249. 8101 to aforementioned is now part of the R143 numbering. 7937-8100 is now open

my secondary theory would that the 140 cars (7961-8100) for the options. sorry I meant to say end at 7960 for the shuttle order.

I'm trying to figure out how they got 4256 to be the number on this first train.

I almost feel that the numbering is some kind of pattern or the 262s can be mixed in. LIke for example, if the six car sets of the 262 are on 4 trains (24 cars), then the numbering could maybe 7937-7959 and the rest of the base and first option could be within the 3328-4255(480+445) mostly ending at 4252. (Might be a different story if it's a 3 on 3 train) but who knows. Since the base order of those cars are said to be up to 504 cars. How the 211 numbering goes forward after 4256 could be anyone's crazy guesses for all we know. just a theory....

Okay now your getting to a point where your be annoying. The fact that you had to post your negativity on one of my forums, is incredibly ridiculous. If you want to spread negativity go somewhere else, because I'm not tolerating it.

To earn his own; the typical way of saying this: If you can't take a little criticism, maybe YOU should go somewhere else.

Good lord, that was a terrible designed map for a proposed route. Like a kindergardener trying to spell in the blackboard. Looks like the stock levels of Blockbuster. I didn't think lines would misused so much in my life. Almost like a crime graph marked across Brooklyn.

With a few modifications I think UP could fit a 60FT bus.

Modifying Ulmer Park slightly or move it to ENY or Flatbush (why am I thinking FB, that's retarded) if it's a big enough demand for future route picks. With UP isn't almost seems political when it comes to buses they can handle. But they'll never lose the B6 which is financially understandable and obvious but who knows, I guess. I wouldn't be against the idea of B6 getting artics, no one would I would think,  but it'll be a while before the (MTA) surfaces a plan for a configuration/conversation, especially with the agency's financial track record.

Who could possibly know at this rate? 1) It's not like a trying to announce when it will. 2) We acknowledge that it's not in the next CP, Thank you, Captain Obvious.... for the painfully reminder.
