Ask me another dumb question like that again.

Or what.....? A majority of us would agree that the (G) can benefit from a fleet extension for the growing ridership within that corridor. It's growing everyday. Maybe when the R211s come in fully, probably the (G) can get addition cars per train regardless of the fleet used. We can't rule these things out, imo because of Congestion pricing. f**k me, I hate this term much.

You foamers can be so annoying, yes I know human error is a thing but I've been riding NTT for 20+ years now and never seen any of the tech train car classes running in service with the entire train exterior signs completely blank until today.

Also, most car classes going back to the SMEE era has had teething issues when new so I don't see the issue assuming this particular issue was an teething issue as well.

Guess you honestly haven't ridden enough new NTTs that had those errors. In YoUr 20 YeArS. Please.... They do happen but using "TeEtHiNg IsSuEs" as a reason for the obvious issues can be overused as best. They blank those screens because the new ops were still learning the systems along the way and didn't have comms to back them up. Stay annoyed, sir.

Call me a foamer lol. Get the f**k outta my face....

Once the base order is done with deliveries, the first option orders follows direct. The (MTA) has already made the deal for first option cars. They will make the deal for the second option once the first option is 1/2 way done

Correction: Once the R211T have finished and passed their evaluations then the option 2 will move forward with purchasing, realistically and regardless of option 1's completion status. It's looking good and almost close though.

Is construction still planned to start at the end of this year?

It's disappointing it's going to take that long - tunnel construction is only five blocks of cut-and-cover between 105th and 110th (plus the 106th stop), and the curve from 120th to 125th. Maybe they can try to at least get service to 116th.

If no delays, yes. Disappointing? No, not really. I feel like if anybody thinks it's really disappointing it'd pretty much stems from impatience and nothing else.

Safety protocols and procedures are priority before the compilation of the progress and its an extensive process. I don't think it'd be smart to rush it. At least get service up to 116th? Bruh..... that really defeats the propose of breaking the line into phases. I would think if they promise the endpoint to be 125th, let them complete it fully and safely in a timely matter. I don't think any of us could do it better. If you can, by all means....

Is 2029 still the estimated date for finishing Phase 2?

Maybe but still wouldn't hold on to that thought just yet. If they start the construction on time, it's almost possible. Don't be surprised if it's an early 2030s date.

Once construction is underway on Phase 2 of the Second Avenue Subway, we’ve said it is expected to take approximately seven to eight years to complete, The actual timeline will be determined after bids are received from design-build companies that include commitments for both cost and duration. --the MTA’s head of construction, Jamie Torres-Springer.

How is it ungratefulness? Just stop, cause here’s my reasoning. I’m just tired of the SAME buses for over a damn decade. Like the XD40s are in great condition too yet Casey Stengel got newer buses. Jamaica and QV always getting new buses. NYCT stay upgrading. I got excited once I heard MTA Bus was finally getting an upgrade cause we needed one here. So idk where you got ungrateful from cause I never once said get rid of them nor was I ungrateful. Just send a few new buses our way. THAT IS ALL. It ain’t about ungratefulness one bit. It’s about how there wasn’t a change for a while and there will continue to be no change. So don’t just assume I’m being ungrateful when I never once said I was

You don't have to say it, you're showing it point blank. A blind man can see it so obviously, I don't want to hear anything differently because YOU'RE STILL ACTING THAT WAY!

Way to kill my spirits… 😒😒😒

You know what, now F the MTA…..

The CP Depot been running those CNG CLF40s since 2011! That’s 12 years! Sure there were some loaners here and there but bro! Why can’t they send some new buses our directions?! Like come on!

Put it this way, we’ll be the ONLY depot without blue local buses 🤦🏾‍♂️

There's should be an RFP for almost 383 CNGs by 2025-26. Y'all can wait... That blue strip was never gonna last forever anyways.

4 hours ago, Fire Mountain said:

Never said they wasn’t. But when you run the same buses for over a decade, it tends to get old and boring. All the other depots getting new buses, why not us? They can’t make no new cng buses or something at least? These buses now are soon to retire within the next 3-6 years

The buses are in great shape so what cares. This might be a great example of ungratefulness on your side.

3 hours ago, Fire Mountain said:

Fine. I just hate the fact there’s is ZERO variety with these local buses in this depot, if they can give these buses at least a remodel or makeover (like they did with the old orions back then), that’ll be cool.

Another example of ungratefulness, need I say more?

You probably didn't hear me the first time, it's not cost effective to give them R211's.

Still doesn't change the fact of what I'm saying. I don't think that Staten Island should be overlooked away from receiving new trains, even with all the bells and whistles. SIR should get with the times with the rest of the system.... The irrelevant thought of it being not cost effective because its just one line of a subsidiary system is such a laughable, autopilot view of things I've ever read. Take that opinion and redirect to the equipment/planning director and get back to us. I think we can all love to hear such a beautiful response....

  9. Nah, F__K that! Why are you even against the idea of Staten Island receiving new NTTs to begin with. Those 44s need to go. Why even repeat the past idea of having to transport an current fleet when they can purchase brand new ones to the 40-year course. Lets not forget the better exterior features as oppose the interior ones that can arguably be seen as a waste? Kinda weird to bring it up now when the cars are already undergoing test and MORE are on the way. It makes no sense at all, you may as be saying they could've added another 75-100 more cars to past contracts for the SIR but better late than never. May as well do as little moving around between the SIR and the NYCT as possible.

    So there's still 6 r211's in service???

Yes and they are all out and about today. You can see a set early 20-30 minutes now and even end to end on the (A) LOL

If you want 4110-19 specifically it's heading to Manhattan as of when I type this.

    Cool. My diagram:

    R211s that have entered service:

    R211A: 4060-4099, 4110-4129

    Others that have been delivered:

    R211A: 4130-4134, 4140-4144

    R211T: 4040-4049 (HS) 4050-4059 (SS)

    R211S: 100-104

    Yeah, that's it.

I hope you know that 4100-09 is in the system, right?....

Way earlier, I've caught 4070-4079 on the overnight a time or two when it was brand new.

The only thing is that it hasn't been a consistent thing. There were times when all sets were taken OOS early because of crews not qualified to operate them.

It don't have to be consistent, they started to doing it. Thats all that matters imo. Funny thing, 4060 still hold first of everything in the series having the owl debut on the night of August 5. Two weeks later, it was 4070. They tryna run them around the clock, get them ready so the 46s can be knocked out quickly and match their rates with the 179s.

Correction: 4090 is coupled with 4125-4129

If it's indeed a 1 for 1, they should combine those r179 4 & 5 car sets for 9 car (C) service. This move would kill two birds with 1 stone: make the (C) one consistent length again, and push the r46s off the line.

Then What do you mean? I am so confused rn. Like Metro CSW said, you really aren’t giving any details here. I don’t get it either. So what happened with that set?

From what I'm hearing just now, the 4090 set is still at the CIY Complex on extensive maintenance. I can't get many details on the matter, but it might be why it's not coupled with 4095, not that it should matter but either way, not an issue with me. Could be wrong here, not promising anything.

  16. 22 minutes ago, RedLine said:

    4090-4093 were delivered.

Yessss..... A month ago, the week of June 21 along with the 4095+set a week prior to that...... How many times are we going to confirm this? Some of y'all are really late to the update party.

Anyways, the 4100s are coming in this month and next and the next. The pacing of deliveries is up to Kawasaki. Up to the 4140s are standing by.
