Queens Surface 434 Posted November 25, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 25, 2007 Did they Redbirds belong to the State on Kanasa at one point as in this banner?
R1Toasty 0 Posted November 25, 2007 Share #2 Posted November 25, 2007 I don't think Kansas owned them, but there were a few cars that were the "State Of Whatever" cars, long gone now, but I've always kinda wondered about them.
Eastman346 0 Posted November 26, 2007 Share #3 Posted November 26, 2007 Did they Redbirds belong to the State on Kanasa at one point as in this banner? I think it something to do with the worlds fair. maybe they were representing the different states of the US. I seen a couple of states but not all. Harry 1,088 Posted December 20, 2007 Share #6 Posted December 20, 2007 I just received my '64 World's Fair subway map. The state cars were named after the State Exhibits at the World's Fair. I believe there still might be a few exhibits missing from the map but this should give an idea of why the cars were named like they were. Check out the Transit Maps Gallery for more new and vintage maps.
