CPBO Posted September 5, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 5, 2009 So the other day I broke down and my wait for a replacement was not bad.....I broke down 6:30 and had a new bus by 7:40 pm......now the shop guy was talking to me about the new pick for fall.....they are moving 30 shop guys to east new york.....so that means less guys to work on buses in the yard......but the good news is that they will be doing overhauls of the engines;)........so means we can get another 3 years or so out of this junk.....after that I think they cannot use the CNG's anymore as they will have been in service like 13 years or so.....but maybe they will find a way to replace the tanks.....also he was telling me that we will no longer have a yard truck....so if something is wrong with your bus......go grab another.....cause nobody will be fixing that loose mirror....or whatever might ail your bus.....so lets see how this works out....moving 30 mechanics out of the shop is a big deal. R32 3348 Posted September 6, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 6, 2009 Well, isn't CP losing CNG's to WF during the Fall pick? Maybe the loss of some of those buses can compensate for the loss of some of the mechanics (though not really).
R10 2952 Posted September 10, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 10, 2009 13 years old isn't that bad. The `85 and `86 GMC RTSes made it until 2006...
