Which Of These Gauges?

Recommended Posts

I've heard of all these gauges and seen them. N, Z, & TT are all smaller than HO and too delicate. Not to mention the detailing is too small to notice. S is slightly larger than HO but slightly smaller than O/O27 Gauge. O and O27 are the same except O27 has a turn radius of 27 inches and higher with low track ties. O has taller rail ties and has a turn radius of 31 inches and higher. However, Lionel offers an O, 27 inch radius as well. G is large scale.

I've heard of and have:

G Gauge - have one, but just too big and not practical to get another set.

O Gauge - 2 sets [Polar Express and a generic Lionel set]

O27 Gauge - an older 'Cannonball express' freight set, also as in my pics - I have additional tracks and switches so I can play [manually] with the generic set on the O27 tracks as well

HO Gauge - Santa Fe freight set
