Theres a few variants, I have a phtoos of a sign where the 177 St-Parkchester reading is in Akzidenz Medium not Condensed, and theres other variants where theres (9) on the route roll

 

The (9) sign was very rare as the redbirds never ran on the (1) or (9) as redbirds.

Theres also the lenox terminal variant with (2) to Brooklyn | (5) to Bronx. Its just too much to keep track of every little variant.

 

And the other way around i think (5) To Bronx | (2) To Brooklyn..

 

I think those replaced the (1)(3) and (9)?

Incorrect. There were 2 different readings for the (2)/(5) service and most signs did not have the (9). I have only seen 2 signs that had the (9) reading.
