Trainspotter 0 Posted December 26, 2007 Share #1 Posted December 26, 2007 MTA spent $2.5M on new clerk uniforms As the MTA geared up to take straphangers to the cleaners, it spent about $2.5 million dressing up token booth clerks with spiffy new uniforms. Over the past several months, 3,500 workers in the subway stations department have been trading in their traditional work outfits - blue shirts, blue pants - for a more formal look: white shirts and gray trousers, or skirts for the ladies working behind the glass. Pablo M 201 35 Posted December 26, 2007 Share #2 Posted December 26, 2007 Aw man, the MTA OD'ed. I think they got a little wasteful with this. But oh well, its already done. So maybe the farehike is to get more money to get new uniforms for everyone else?
Harry 1,088 Posted December 26, 2007 Share #3 Posted December 26, 2007 I saw nothing wrong with the current uniforms. This was a waste in my opinion. The money could have gone to something else more useful.
sebbieprops 0 Posted December 26, 2007 Share #4 Posted December 26, 2007 What a waste. The current uniforms are more than adequate. If they're going to raise the fare, at least they ought to put the funds towards a more useful improvement.
R1Toasty 0 Posted December 27, 2007 Share #5 Posted December 27, 2007 Seems like a nice change I suppose. I don't have a problem with it really, but the money could very well have been spent on other things.
