Zman Posted February 4, 2010 Share #3 Posted February 4, 2010 The French legal system is as "stupid" as the American one. I'm sure that if you prodded into the legal archives of any legal system, whether in Canada, Australia, etc., you'll find a trial which shouldn't have been. metsfan Posted February 5, 2010 Share #5 Posted February 5, 2010 The families all ready got compensated, this trial is for to see if continental employees illegally put a titanium strip where an alu strip should have been, this strip is what the tire rolled over at max takeoff pressure just before lift begins, it sliced cleanly through the tire, sending it exploding into a million pieces, one of which slammed at 200 mph into the wing causing a pressure wave to burst at a weak spot, another piece severed a control line exposed that controls the brakes, arcing from this line ignited the leaking fuel & it was all over after that despite the damn heroic efforts of the crew in the cockpit. - A
