Gotham Bus Co Posted May 20, 2010 Share #28 Posted May 20, 2010 M5 might not be a big deal.....we have the M 1 that go to Harlem from south ferry and that a long ride....it might just add couple min on the trip on the M 5. More than "a couple of minutes," I'm afraid. Except for Riverside Drive, every block of the current M5 route is vulnerable to the random whims of Manhattan traffic. (Plus, when the Henry Hudson Parkway craps out, Riverside also becomes vulnerable.) The extension to South Ferry is "only" about 2 miles (according to Google Maps), but those 2 miles will just exacerbate the route's existing problems.
