keysersoze Posted April 12, 2008 Share #1 Posted April 12, 2008 My favourite artics in Munich have always been the 1994 Mercedes-Benz O405GN. Munich MVG ordered only 19 of these low-floor, 3-door buses, which made them quite a rare sight on the streets of Munich. The 19 buses, nrs. 5801 - 5819, are currently assigned to a couple of routes in the west of our city and they are out on the streets Mon thru Sat only. Unfortunately, these comfortable and reliable buses are due for retirement this year after 14 years of service. Beginning in May, they will be retired as new 4-door Mercedes-Benz Citaro artics are coming in. Why did I love these buses so much? They had many seats, and boy! comfortable ones with slanted backrests, and a nice sound. So, here are some shots (and one video) I took today... I'm very sad that they'll have to go soon. I'm sorry but there currently seems to be a problem with my imagehoster (imageshack)... some pictures just don't show. I will try to re-upload them, and make it work.
