Roadcruiser1 Posted March 22, 2011 Share #29 Posted March 22, 2011 Both the Second, and the Third Avenue Elevated served the Hanover Square station. The Second Avenue Elevated branched off the Third Avenue Elevated.
EE Broadway Local Posted March 22, 2011 Share #30 Posted March 22, 2011 Between South Ferry and Chatham Square the Second and Third Avenue Els were one. The Ninth Avenue El's Christopher Street Street station was adjacent to the PATH Christopher Street station. This provided an easy connection for riders of the H & M to and from the el. Both the Second, and the Third Avenue Elevated served the Hanover Square station. The Second Avenue Elevated branched off the Third Avenue Elevated. EE Broadway Local Posted March 23, 2011 Share #34 Posted March 23, 2011 The City Hall branch was Third Avenue. It closed on December 31, 1953. On December 22, 1950, Third Avenue service had been discontinued between South Ferry and Chatham Square and between Gun Hill Road and East 241st Street.
