bknightshadow45 Posted April 6, 2011 Share #3 Posted April 6, 2011 The best time to catch the train is during the afternoon rush between 4:00pm-5:00pm when they come out from the yard. Most trains start their run either Broadway Junction or Chauncey Street at the Manhattan Bound platform.

Which is true, but I think she wanted to be on a skip-stop northbound unless she wanted to ride both ways (in which case get off at Fulton and wait for it to relay and come back up). Funny question last time I took the with my friend I saw R160's but I took the back to manhatten and it was the good ol' R42's.
Fresh Pond Posted April 6, 2011 Share #7 Posted April 6, 2011 During the PM rush, some come from the yard and start at Chauncey St (the first ones usually reach Halsey St around 4:15-4:20) and the others come from the back of the yard (or 121 St layup) and make all stops from Broadway Junction (or Chauncey St) to Broad St, then oes back out doing skip-stop Since there's only 5 trains, its always at least 2 sets of R42s and 2 sets of R160s. That 5th train can be either one (usually around that time, the other R42 stes are on the ). But almost always (about 85% of the time) the first train from the yard in the PM rush is a R42
