Taking of Pelham 1-2-3 Question

I'm looking at several pictures from nycsubway.org. I'm looking at (http://nycsubway.org/perl/show?122281, http://nycsubway.org/perl/show?122285, http://nycsubway.org/perl/show?122286, http://nycsubway.org/perl/show?122280) and I'm just shocked that for one R62 mock-up car, as far as I can tell, they need close to 5 other cars as well (R10, SBK Steeplecab 6, R36 9542-9543, and a R68A) followed by the R62 mockup. Does anyone know why they needed so many cars? I just thought they needed 2-3 cars of the same kind.

They probably wanted the length of a real NYCS train, but couldn't afford or rent that many R62s. They are still in service, you know. Just my theory...;)

Well I can't explain the 68, but aren't those museum cars? I think they filmed this near the museum.
