Shortline Bus Posted December 11, 2011 Share #3 Posted December 11, 2011 I've been thinking alot about Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer and the N4and suddenly i'm going crazy about knowing when the N4 got rerouted to Parsons/Archer. Can someone tell me.PLEASE!!! THANKS P.S the Archer Avenue Line celebrates 23 years of Service. (12/11/11) Just a note I am 95% sure the (N4) was re-routed when on this date. The same day the Merrick Blvd bus routes now called the (Q4) (Q5) etc. were re-routed to then brand new Archer extension that sent the and lines down there on Dec. 11, 1988.:eek Prior to that the (N4) ended at the 169th/Hillside (E)when it ran to 179th-Hillside along with the prior to Dec. 1988. Joel Up Front Posted December 11, 2011 Share #4 Posted December 11, 2011 I don't know if the MSBA/LIB saw this in advance and rerouted it, but it had to have been after 1988.
Ceya Posted December 14, 2011 Share #5 Posted December 14, 2011 it was soon after the bus depot opened up. the setup today was different when it opened up. the Q85 was up front as well is the N4. I miss the old depot and buses when they were on Hillside ave. S/F, CEya!
Far Rock Depot Posted December 14, 2011 Share #6 Posted December 14, 2011 I STILL have the Archer Ave Extention brochure at my mom's apt! The date was December 11, 1988. Many Bus lines were rerouted effective on that date to serve the station.
User Posted December 15, 2011 Share #7 Posted December 15, 2011 Hopefully, when they finish construction on the new 165th St Bus Terminal, the N4 will be extended to 165th.
Joel Up Front Posted December 15, 2011 Share #8 Posted December 15, 2011 Hopefully, when they finish construction on the new 165th St Bus Terminal, the N4 will be extended to 165th. Except for the whole NICE/buses not going into the city thing.
Eric B Posted December 15, 2011 Share #9 Posted December 15, 2011 What's that? (Must have missed it in all the discussion). How would the NICE buses not come into the city? Would they just cut them off at the border or something?
User Posted December 15, 2011 Share #10 Posted December 15, 2011 Except for the whole NICE/buses not going into the city thing. Why won't they go into the city? Has that even be agreed on, because I know the people don't want that.
N4 Via Merrick Rd Posted December 23, 2011 Author Share #11 Posted December 23, 2011 Hopefully, when they finish construction on the new 165th St Bus Terminal, the N4 will be extended to 165th. I dont find re-routing the N4 to 165th is that beneficial. I think the current terminus which is Parsons/Archer is way better.1st off you have an easy Xfer to to Midtown and WTC and the and to downtown Manhattan
