Blitz Posted March 6, 2012 Share #1 Posted March 6, 2012 It has been brought to my attention that traffic signal priority will be tested on a couple buses on the M15 SBS. Now I don't know any real specifics like what area of the route this will work on or when It's gonna start working, but i do know that 1233 and 1234 have the devices installed....I don't know why they didn't try this earlier. Via Garibaldi 8 Posted March 6, 2012 Share #2 Posted March 6, 2012 I thought it was already out on some line somewhere... Just didn't know where... lol I guess I was wrong.
INDman Posted March 6, 2012 Share #3 Posted March 6, 2012 The way I heard this was that it will keep a green light green so the bus can get thru the intersection, but it won't make a red light green, like some systems do for emergency vehicles. If there making red lights green, it's an illegal use of that system.

datDude Posted March 7, 2012 Share #5 Posted March 7, 2012 Me too, I thought these were installed already on the Bx12+SBS. There's one at the Univ Heights bridge bx bound, the bus lane has a light that turns green a little before the light for everyone else to give the bus a head start on the traffic. Since there is no bus lane on the bridge, it doesnt' have to fight with traffic to merge into the right lane. That's how it works in theory anyway, it doesn't work so perfectly most times, if at all. but its there.
