Megabus does offer an one seat ride between NYC & Center City Philly, it's the Market St. stop near the US Mint and Museum Lawn (though it's by office buildings). Keep in mind that Amtrak would probably be very disappointed if NJTransit does get the go into Philly because their trains would probably look lame and pricey for rail-travellers who don't mind spending more time on the rail. Not to mention, Greyhound, Peter Pan, BoltBus, MegaBus (by Coach USA) and Chinatown Lines is already giving them a run for the money.
